RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (1) vs OHA Edmonton (3) U15 Prep
Just 17-seconds into play, Kobe Pellack would knock home a loose puck to give OHA Edmonton the early advantage. RHA Winnipeg would make up for the early allowed goal after Wyatt Sydenham polished off a pretty entry play kicked off by the two Declan’s, Champagne and McNicol. Come the second, OHA Edmonton would restore their one goal advantage after Artello Forestal and Steven Leavitt connected in front. RHA Winnipeg goaltender Haize Brightnose (45/47) would put on a great display in between the pipes after forfeiting the go ahead goal to OHA Edmonton. The St. Anne, MB native would stop everything for the next half of the game, making 24-saves in the second period alone. However, RHA Winnipeg could not find another answer for Connor Phillips (22/23) as their offence struggled. Phillips would make 22-saves in the win while Kelson Hawreluik (1G, 1A) buried the empty netter to put this game to rest.
Shawnigan Lake School (0) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (4) U18 Prep
Liam Ryan (42/46) put in a valiant 42-save effort for Shawnigan, but the overwhelming pressure from RHA Kelowna would ultimately steal them this victory. Rhett Tubello’s (1G, 1A) opening tally would go on to stand as the GWG as Micah Davidson (38/38) was perfect in his RHA Kelowna debut, stopping all 38-shots he faced for his seventh career shutout in the CSSHL. Nate MacPhee and Ryan Sadovia (1G, 1A) would add some padding in the second while recently signed Moose Jaw Warriors prospect Carson Smith wired one home late to close this weekday affair with Shawngian.
Ontario Hockey Academy (6) vs CIH Academy (2) East U17 Prep
OHA and CIH Academy would remain deadlocked at 0-0 through the opening half of this matchup to kick off our Eastern Showcase in Cornwall, ON. However, the flood gates would open in the latter half of the second. Yehor Pyshalko (2G, 1A) would open the scoring with one of his two goals in the frame. Toby Kindred would tie it up soon after but OHA would claw back with another two quick goals off the sticks of Finlay O’Neil (1G, 1A) and Pyshalko. Nathan MacCuaig-Irish would bring CIH Academy to within one to start the third but OHA would go on to score three unanswered to close off this contest. Jin Inoue (18/20) picked up 18-saves in this victory to kickstart the Maverick’s weekend on the right foot.
King’s Edgehill School (4) vs CIH Academy (9) East U18 Prep
After CIH Academy took an early 3-1, King’s Edgehill would explode on to the scene with three unanswered goals to take a late lead in the first. However, a late goal from Antoine Bernier would bring this game back to even, capping off an eight goal first period. From this point on, the game was in CIH Academy’s control. Ricky Deslauriers (2G, 1A) and Jayden Charlish-Moar (1G, 3A) would score CIH’s lone two goals in the second, building their lead to 6-4. In the third, CIH would strike for three more, sealing off a 9-4 victory to kickstart the weekend. Charlish-Moar led the way with a four point outing while Deslauriers and Andrei Chumakov (2G, 1A) each scored a pair of goals. Jacob Kirstein (20/24) picked up the win between the pipes while 2010-born goaltender Mikko Robichaud (28/37) collected 28-saves with some highlight reel stops.
Ontario Hockey Academy (1) vs Bourget College (5) East U18 Prep
In an early rematch of last season’s Eastern U18 Prep final, Ontario Hockey Academy and Bourget College faceoff in our 2025 Eastern Showcase. Bourget would get the ball rolling in the first period with three unanswered goals. Christophe Potvin scored the opening goal, followed by Antoine Grenier and Chicoutimi Saguenéens prospect Olivier Tétreault (1G, 1A). Elie Robert would keep the upward trend going for Bourget, scoring an early powerplay goal in the second while Maddx Thinel (1G, 1A) capped off a five goal run for the Volts. Kaemon Tran would score late to give OHA their first tally and some hope for the third. However, the final frame would end in a stalemate, with Bourget College hanging on to their four goal advantage to pick up their first win of the season. Saint John Sea Dogs prospect Samuel Pitcher (32/33) made 32-stops in the winning effort while Nicolas Arcilla (43/48) put up 43-saves for OHA.
Calgary International Hockey Academy (5) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (2) U15
Rhett Davis (1G, 1A) opened the scoring for Calgary IHA a mere 23-seconds into play off a fantastic individual effort. Brody Boghean (1G, 1A) and Finn Sewall (1G, 1A) would extend Calgary IHA’s lead to three before the end of the frame. In the second, Prairie would show some pushback, scoring twice to bring things to within reach before the second half of the match. However, after getting into penalty trouble Calgary IHA would make that feat for Prairie a lot harder after Kirin Chan netted one on the powerplay. Emerson Constable would put things out of reach in the third with a shorthanded tally, granting Calgary IHA the victory.
Shawnigan Lake School (2) vs Edge School (3/OT) Female U18 Prep
Opening up our Female U18 Prep Showcase on Vancouver Island, Shawnigan Lake welcomed Edge School for an evening matchup. The first period would remain even at 0-0 with both teams taking 10-shots a piece. Shawnigan would open the gates in the second after Leah Hill (1G, 1A) sniped home her 3rd of the season. Shawnigan’s lead would double late in the frame after Tess McGee jammed home a loose puck in close. Shawnigan would keep applying the pressure in the third, peppering 16-shots on goal, but unable to find an answer to get one past Jenna Ring (41/43) to put this one out of reach. Abigail Lee (1G, 1A) capitalised late to put Edge on the scoresheet. Then in heroic fashion, Samantha Baker (1G, 1A) would cram home a loose puck in tight, tying this game in the final two-minutes and forcing overtime. Edge would start the extra frame with a powerplay after some late penalty trouble from Shawnigan and they would not spoil their opportunity as Avaya McCann wired one far side to complete the comeback for Edge. Ring would post an immense 41-saves in the victory.
