RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (8) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (6) U18 Prep
Charlie Hill (1G, 1A) and Jaden Mah (3G, 1A) traded goals in the first half of the opening period before Layne Schofield (2G, 1A) and Michael Tracy (1G, 1A) did the same in the second half. Caleb DeBruyne gave Pilot Mound their first lead 8:26 into the second but Drayden Uhrina (1G, 1A) and River Arnason (2G, 1A) responded with goals nine seconds apart to put RHA Winnipeg ahead. Mah would score back-to-back goals to record the hat-trick, tie the game and then put PMHA ahead, while Briggs Olson (1G, 2A) doubled the lead 18 seconds later with his team’s third power play goal of the game. Schofield brought RHA Winnipeg within one 8:49 into the third period, kick-starting an incredible comeback effort. Arnason tied the game with a power play goal with 3:47 remaining and Trystan Hunter (1G, 1A) gave his team the lead just 35 seconds later. Jake Ritson added an empty net goal with nine seconds left to turn a 6-4 deficit into an 8-6 victory.
Indigenous Sports Academy (1) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (6) U17 Prep
Prairie opened the scoring 11:35 in when Dane Chalupa scored his sixth goal of the season. Ethan Unger (1G, 1A) and Seamus Dillon (1G, 1A) scored 56 seconds apart as Prairie led 3-0 after 20. Noah Gibson (1G, 1A) scored his first goal of the season 11:26 into the second, the lone goal of the period. Van Huebner extended the lead 46 seconds into the third with a power play marker. Cruz Bear got ISA on the board with 6:27 left in the game, ending the Karter Hilbig (20/21) shutout bid. Affiliate Kashton Smith rounded out the scoring for Prairie in the 6-1 win Wednesday. Jacob Appleby (63/69) made 63 saves in the loss.
Fort Erie International Academy (2) vs Okanagan Hockey Ontario (4) East U18
Tom Boudet (1G, 1A) and Alex Brown (2G) scored in the opening 10 minutes as OHO grabbed a 2-0 lead. Isaak Samson responded on the power play for Fort Erie with the lone goal of the second period. Brown restored the two goal lead just 51 seconds into the third period. Riley Cave would score the second Fort Erie power play goal less than four minutes later, but a Philippe Walsh (1G, 1A) power play goal with 6:07 remaining cancelled that out. Drew Osinga (36/38) finished with 36 saves to earn his second win of the season. Timothee Fengos (35/39) was charged with the loss.
St. George’s School (6) vs North Shore Warriors (4) U17 Prep
Lucas Lekakis opened the scoring 4:48 into the game with his fourth of the season. Josh Gravistin (1G, 1A) tied the game 10 minutes later on the power play but Samuel Shepard restored the North Shore lead 46 seconds later. Chase Vossenaar (2G) extended the lead 5:46 into the second with 11th goal of the season. Daniel Taylor (1G, 1A) and Maddox Hoo (1G, 1A) responded in the second for St. George’s. Jason Gao (1G, 2A) gave St. George’s their first lead of the game 9:09 into the third period. Ishaan Sharma doubled the lead with a power play marker and Jayan Sinha (1G, 1A) added another goal with 31 seconds left as St. George’s scored five straight. Vossenaar would add a late consolation goal with 24 seconds remaining.
Okanagan Hockey Academy (1) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (2/OT) U17
In the CSSHL Featured Game of the Day, the two sides spent the majority of the first period feeling each other out. Kaustav Pradeep would grab the puck deep in the RHA Kelowna end, going coast-to-coast and beating Tyson Kuiack (21/23) blocker side for the games first goal. Midway through the second OHA would apply some pressure that resulted in Gage Kiselbach tying the game when a loose puck bounced out to him, alone in the slot. Kuiack kept the game tied with a breakaway save in the dying moments of the second, and a couple highlight reel saves in the third. The game would head to OT where Colton Deschamps continued to show why he leads all defensemen in goals and points, beating his man to the net and roofing the puck upstairs to give RHA Kelowna the 2-1 win. Griffin Jones (25/26) made 25 saves for the win.
BWC Academy (7) vs Shawnigan Lake School (3) U17 Prep
Bruce Zhong (1G, 1A), Oleksii Zhekov (4G) and Brayden McCrorie scored first period goals as BWC Academy opened up to a 3-0 lead. Case Bartley got Shawnigan on the board 32 seconds into the second, though Zhekov responded for BWC Academy 38 seconds later. Kaiden Pound and Ryder Kerr (2G, 1A) traded goals 55 seconds apart to round out the second period scoring. Zhekov completed the hat-trick 9:12 into the third period as BWC Academy was up 6-3. Kerr added another Shawnigan goal a few minutes later but Zhekov capped off his performance with his fourth of the afternoon late in the game as BWC Academy grabbed a 7-3 win.
Indigenous Sports Academy (2) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (4) U17 Prep
A power play goal by Jace Frencheater 2:03 into the game gave ISA the initial lead. Nolan Harding (1G, 1A) countered for RHA Winnipeg just 39 seconds later. Tyson Bird and Gavin Quennelle traded goals late in the first to close out the period. A power play goal by Knox Burton (1G, 1A) put RHA Winnipeg ahead for the first time midway through the second. Brady Keith (1G, 1A) added a third period marker to double the RHA Winnipeg lead as the team held on for a 4-2 win. Chase Charriere (18/20) and Jacob Appleby (38/41) were in net for their respective teams.
Northern Alberta Xtreme (3) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (1) U17 Prep
Bronsyn Mouille got things started for NAX with a jam in close to give them the lead heading into the second. In the middle frame, Brody Dawson (1G, 1A) would whack home a behind the back feed from Nolan Phare (2A) extending their lead to two. In the third, Jack Perrier would bury his own rebound to cut their deficit to one. However, a late point shot from Aiden Across The Mountain restored NAX’s two goal lead. Matthew Coyle (24/25) made 24-saves in the win while Barrett Hayes (51/54) made 50+ saves in the loss.
Delta Hockey Academy (3/OT) vs North Shore Warriors (2) U17
Wesley Morrison and Brady Olson would split the scoring between Delta and NSW after twenty minutes of action. Come the second, James Koch would put NSW ahead with a powerplay marker, giving them the lead into the final frame. NSW looked like they were going to take this match 2-1. However, with the goalie pulled, Delta’s Robert Rydberg III would bury the game tying goal in the final second of play, forcing overtime. Just two minutes into OT, Santiago Skinner would build up speed in the neutral zone before splitting the NSW defence for a breakaway where he’d go on to bury a backhand in close to give Delta the late comeback victory.
North Shore Warriors (2) vs Shawnigan Lake School (3) Female U18 Prep
After a scoreless first, Jordana Jones would score on a breakaway for NSW while being heavily marked. North Shore’s lead wouldn’t last long as Esme LiChong would put home a rebound in front to tie things up. Later in the frame, Grace Cooper (1G, 1A) would put home her own rebound after a fancy individual effort to put Shawnigan in front. NSW’s Lily Zohner would tie things up at 2-2 just 24-seconds into the final frame, but Shawnigan would rally back halfway through the period. Meera Smith would score the go ahead goal with ten minutes left to go on the clock for Shawnigan’s second powerplay goal of the afternoon. Shawnigan would go on to take this one, with Aidyn Carkner (29/31) making 29-saves. In the loss, Haylie Hedges (61/64) gave her team a chance, racking up 61-saves.
North Shore Warriors (3) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (2) U15
RHA Kelowna applied the pressure throughout the first and would find their first tally late in the frame off the stick of Harrison Sharman. However, come the second, NSW would find their groove, outshooting RHA Kelowna 19-9 and scoring two to exit the frame on top. Late in the third, Nicholas Sheldon would further extend NSW’s lead to 3-1. Austin Schultz would get one back late for RHA Kelowna, but it wasn’t enough to force overtime. Benjamin Boudreau (24/26) picked up the win in the crease, making 24-stops.
Indigenous Sports Academy (0) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (8) U18 Prep
Regina Pats prospect Jett Deschamps (1G, 3A) led the charge in a offensively fueled victory for RHA Winnipeg, cashing in shorthanded and picking up three assists as well. Drayden Uhrina (2G) and Jake Ritson (2G, 1A) would lead the forward core with a pair of goals each. Nolan Giles (9/9) was in net for the shutout, making 9-saves for his second shutout of the campaign.
STAR Hockey Academy (2) vs Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (6) U17 Prep
Shawn Haynes was able to open the scoring in the first to put CDA up by one by the end of the frame. Dylan Kirkpatrick was able to get STAR on the board in the second but a pair of goals from CDA held and extended their lead to 3-1. CDA’s scoring would continue to progress in the third as they piled on another three into the back of STAR’s cage. Preston Dalebout (3G) finished off his hat-trick with a late pair of goals while Brody Payne (1G, 2A) picked up three points with two helpers. Alex Doyer (28/30) picked up the win in goal, picking up an assist in the process as well.
OHA Edmonton (4/SO) vs Notre Dame (3) U15 Prep
Sutton Hodgetts got OHA Edmonton up early with an even strength marker, despite being outshot by a hungry Notre Dame team in search of their first win of the season. Oliver Homstol would extend OHA Edmonton’s lead off a sweet dish from Artello Forestal. However, Notre Dame would get one back before the end of the frame thanks to an individual effort from Jack Carter. Early in the third, Notre Dame would show some push back as Paul Abrametz got things knotted up at 2-2. Kael Scott would put OHA Edmonton back in front but a quick response from Matthew Boekelder to force OT. Overtime wouldn’t solve anything, but a lone goal from Brayden Tucker put this game to bed for OHA Edmonton. Gavin Steeves (30/33) would stop all three Notre Dame shooters to clinch the victory.
Edge School (2) vs OHA Edmonton (3) Female U18 Prep
Brooklyn Deck (1G, 1A) got the opening goal for Edge School on the powerplay, giving them the lead through twenty minutes. Ryann Jugnauth would bring OHA Edmonton to equal terms with a powerplay goal of her own but a late tally from Abby Lee (1G, 1A) put Edge back ahead entering the third. OHA Edmonton would find their groove in the third scoring two quick ones to open the frame and give them the lead. Riley Cooper’s (1G, 2A) would stand as the game winner while Ava Antle (24/26) picked up the win in goal.
STAR Hockey Academy (4) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (3) U15 Prep
Despite OHA scoring the lone goal in the first. STAR would strike for three unanswered to start the second, including two powerplay markers. However, OHA would rally back with two late in the frame to keep things knotted up at 3-3. Early in the third, Levi Ellingsen (2G, 1A) would snatch a shorthanded marker to put STAR back up by one. STAR would hold on to this lead throughout the rest of the frame, picking up their tenth win of the season.
BWC Academy (6) vs Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (7/OT) U17
After splitting the scoring through one, CDA would explode for four in the second, to establish a 5-2 lead heading into the third. Adam Pflugrath-Davis (2G) was a key contributor early on for CDA, picking up two goals in the opening forty. Early in the third, Wyatt Brooks added another layer to CDA’s lead, scoring just 1:40 into play. However, shortly after Brooks’ goal, Jacob Napoleon (2G) would get BWC Academy back on track, cutting their deficit to three. Little known at the time, but Napoleon had sparked a four goal chain for BWC Academy, eventually forcing the tying goal late as Leonardo Lee (2G, 1A) scored on the powerplay, forcing overtime. In the extra frame, CDA would get their bearings straight and capitalise. Owen Bambrick (2G, 1A) would go on to net the OT winner, saving CDA their victory.
Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (4) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (6) U18 Prep
It only took Benjamin Bowtell (2G) 65-seconds to open the scoring for RHA Kelowna on a late Friday night. Halfway through the frame RHA Kelowna’s lead would double after Owen Downey found twine, but that was shortly lived as Nick Roy would get Wenatchee on the scoresheet. Mathis Paull would add his fifth of the season late in the frame to restore RHA Kelowna’s cushion. Scoring would take a pause in the second but would be fully charged for the second. Bowtell would pick up his second to establish RHA Kelowna their first three goal lead. However, Wenatchee would catch heat after Collin Ubrig (2G) scored on the powerplay. Ubrig would go on to cut the deficit once more later in the frame before Jackson McCutcheon tied things up just under a minute later. Despite the late push, Wenatchee would take a late penalty, resulting in a late powerplay goal for RHA Kelowna to restore their lead. Riley Pederson (1G, 1A) walked away with the game winner while Brady Walker (1G, 2A) sealed things with an EN goal.
