Dal Monte Commits to Utica College Pioneers

Canadian Sports School Hockey League (CSSHL) alum Mattias Dal Monte has committed to NCAA Division III program Utica College Pioneers for the 2021/22 season.

Dal Monte spent two seasons in the CSSHL recording 2 points and 4 penalty minutes in 12 games with the Pursuit of Excellence U15 Prep team (now Rink Hockey Academy Kelowna) during the 2014/15 season. He would spend the 2015/16 season with BWC Academy U16 Prep team where he had 14 points in 35 games, to go along with 3 points in 4 playoff games.

In 2017/18 he would make the jump to the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL), playing two seasons with the Merritt Centennials. He would spend 2019/20 with the Manitoba Junior Hockey League’s (MJHL) Swan Valley Stampeders and the BCHL’s Alberni Valley Bulldogs.

Dal Monte, who is originally from Nanaimo, B.C., headed south for the 2020/21 season, joining the Amarillo Bulls of the North American Hockey League (NAHL). In 36 games the 6’4 defenseman had 3 goals and 4 assists.

Located in Utica, New York, the Pioneers are members of the United Collegiate Hockey Conference.
