BC Duo Sign with OCN Blizzard

Kai Clayton and Dryden DeMelo have signed with the OCN Blizzard for the 2022/23 Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) season.

Clayton spent the past five seasons in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) with Delta Hockey Academy. The Tsawwassen, BC forward joined the program in 2017/18, playing two seasons with their U15 team, tallying 42 points in 59 games. Clayton would add 8 points in 35 U16 Prep games in 2019/20, followed by 1 point in 5 U17 Prep games in 2020/21 and 7 points in 29 U18 Prep games during the 2021/22 campaign.

A netminder from Victoria, BC, DeMelo played in the CSSHL with Pacific Coast Hockey Academy from 2018-2021. In 19 U15 Prep games during the 2018/19 season DeMelo would finish with a 4.81 Goals Against Average (GAA), .872 Save Percentage (SV%) and 1 shutout. The following U16 Prep campaign would see him play 19 games, tallying a 3.33 GAA, .914 SV% and 2 shutouts. 2020/21 would be DeMelo’s last season with PCHA, finishing with a 5.33 GAA, and .880 SV% in 3 games. That season would also see him play 1 game for the Victoria Grizzlies in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL), earning a victory in the affair.
