The February CSSHL Female Alumna Player of the Month is former Delta Hockey Academy student-athlete Vanessa Schaefer.
Schaefer recently captured a bronze medal with Team Switzerland at the 2026 Winter Olympics, playing in all seven games as her team earned their first podium appearance since Sochi 2014. This was her third time representing Switzerland, and first at the Olympics.
A forward with the University of British Columbia, Schaefer is in her second U SPORTS season. After tallying 6 points in 25 games and being named to the U SPORTS (West) All-Rookie Team last season, she had 14 in 21 this year.
Schaefer spent three seasons in the CSSHL with Delta Hockey Academy from 2020-23. In 50 games she would tally 47 points, including a career high 25 points during the 2022/23 season.
