Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (6) vs Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (1) U18 Prep
Six days after a 10-1 loss to Edge School, Pilot Mound Hockey Academy turned the page in a hurry, beating Wenatchee 6-1 in Delta for their first win of the season. The Wild struck first through Kason Nicholson (1G), but the lead lasted barely two minutes before Carson Flock (1G) answered on the power play. Then PMHA took over. They outshot Wenatchee 19-6 in the second, and only Mason McDougall, who finished with 39 saves on 45 shots, kept it close until defenceman Sam McLean (1G, 1A) put the visitors ahead. The third was all Pilot Mound. Maddox Ramage (1G) and Dylan Sveinson (1G) scored early, and Max Schütz (1G, 2A) and defenceman Xianen Evans (1G, 2A) added two more 24 seconds apart late. Delta ran off five unanswered goals by early in the second, the last a power-play marker from Brady Oatman (1G). Easton Pitz (1G, 1A) scored 41 seconds into the third and Dylan Russell (1G, 1A) added another late, but Coupland finished with 42 saves on 46 shots to help Delta bounce back from a 4-2 loss to Edge School the day before.
Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (4) vs North Shore Warriors (2) U18 Prep
Coeur d’Alene had a week to think about the 4-3 loss North Shore handed them on home ice, and this time the rematch went their way. Knox Vogel (1G) opened the scoring midway through the first, and Jackson Lindsley (2G) doubled the lead before intermission. Lindsley (2G) struck again in the second to make it 3-0. Sam Trnecka faced only seven shots through 40 minutes and kept every one of them out, while North Shore’s power play came up empty on all five chances. The Warriors finally broke through with under six minutes left, when Josh Dennis (1G) ended the shutout bid. Karter Lundmark (1G, 1A), who set up Dennis, then pulled them within a goal late in the third. That was as close as it got. Easton Margettie (1G) restored the two-goal cushion with 33 seconds left, and Trnecka finished with 13 saves on 15 shots as CDA won their third straight.
Okanagan Hockey Academy (3) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (4) U17 Prep
Five goals in the second period decided this one, and RHA Winnipeg got three of them. Grayson Speirs (1G, 1A) scored the only goal of the first, then the middle frame turned into a trading session. Okanagan tied it early through Wyatt Bryant (1G) and later pulled within one through Landon Ruck (1G). Winnipeg answered each time: Declan McNicol (1G) scored on the power play, Wyatt Sydenham (1G) added another, and David Ring (1G) made it 4-2 with the goal that stood up as the winner. Eli Wasylyk (2A) and Maddex Mason (2A) each set up two. Between the pipes, DJ Mecas protected the two-goal lead until the final seconds and turned aside 35 of 38 on the day. Okanagan came in at 4-1. They pulled Hudson Swankhuizen for an extra attacker, and Nathan Marques (1G) scored with 19 seconds left, but time ran out on the comeback. It was a bounce-back for Winnipeg, whose last outing was an 11-1 loss to South Alberta.
Delta Hockey Academy (8) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (1) U17 Prep
Delta’s group improved to 5-0, and it took them all of 24 seconds to get going. Carson Brown (2G, 1A) scored that early, and the visitors outshot Prairie 22-7 in the first. Conner Aldag kept PHA within one through 20 minutes and finished with 45 saves on 53 shots, but the dam broke in the second. Tay Mann (1G) cut the deficit to 2-1 midway through the period, and Delta answered with three goals before intermission, including Brown’s (2G, 1A) second on the power play. They opened the third the same way they opened the game: Miles Teiffel (1G) scored his first of the season 24 seconds in. Seven different players scored. Colby Walker (1G, 2A) and Jake Dunlop (1G, 2A) each had three points, and the blue line joined in, with defencemen Josh Racic (1G, 2A) and Carsten Patrick (1G, 1A) both scoring.
LA Jr. Kings 16U AAA (0) vs St. George’s School (11) U18 Prep
The LA Jr. Kings came north as guests at the U18 Prep Showcase in Delta, and St. George’s turned out to be less than gracious hosts. The home side outshot the 16U AAA visitors 51-16 and rolled to an 11-0 win, with Carter Adams turning aside all 16 shots he faced for the shutout. Beck Charlton (3G, 1A) led the attack with a hat-trick, while Jayan Sinha (2G, 3A) and defenceman Quinn Pickering (1G, 4A) each piled up five points. For the record, the officials never had to raise an arm: the game went the full 60 minutes without a single penalty.
Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (9) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (3) U17 Prep
Maximus Scheffer (4G, 1A) started the day with eight goals on the season and finished it with 12. His four-goal afternoon powered Pacific Coast to a 9-3 win, their sixth straight. Pilot Mound trailed only 1-0 after the first, but PCHA scored three times in the first six minutes of the second, starting with Scheffer’s opener 38 seconds in. Between the pipes for PMHA, Avery Cantleberry faced 57 shots and stopped 48, and the margin could easily have been wider. Edin Korajac (2G) twice gave the home side some life, the second time on the power play to make it 5-2 early in the third. Nixon Szadkowski (1G, 2A) answered 15 seconds later, and Scheffer added two more down the stretch. Trent Porter (3A) set up three goals, while Barrett Szadkowski (1G, 1A) and Jason Thomson (1G, 1A) both scored their first of the season.
STAR Hockey Academy (2) vs North Shore Warriors (1) U17
STAR Hockey Academy didn’t need the power play to win this one. The teams combined for 11 man-advantages without a single power-play goal, and the game was settled at even strength and in the creases. STAR outshot North Shore 15-6 in a scoreless first, with Cole Lawrence keeping the home side level, before Jack Adsit (1G) broke through 50 seconds into the second. The Warriors’ equalizer came from an unlikely place: Matthew OKrainetz (1G) scored unassisted while North Shore was killing a penalty. Edrick Himley (1G) restored the lead early in the third, and that one held. North Shore pushed with 12 shots in the final period and got one last power play when STAR took a hooking penalty with 32 seconds left, but Brenden Sayles shut the door and finished with 25 saves on 26 shots. At the other end, Lawrence turned aside 37 of 39 in a losing effort.
North Shore Warriors (1) vs Notre Dame Hounds (3) U17 Prep
Eighty-six shots produced just four goals, and the goaltenders were the reason why. Quinn Herman (1G) put North Shore ahead early in the first, and that lead held for more than 20 minutes while Linden Spasoff and Ben Boudreau traded save for save. Neither power play could crack them either. Dominik Chartrand (1G) finally pulled the Hounds level early in the second. The goal that broke it open came with Notre Dame a man short. Hudson Wicharuk (1G) scored his first of the season shorthanded late in the period, and it stood up as the winner. Defenceman Hudson Blackmore (1G) added insurance with under three minutes left, also his first of the season, and Eli Swift (2A) and Kallen Knutson (2A) set up both of Notre Dame’s even-strength goals. Spasoff finished with 41 saves on 42 shots, Boudreau stopped 41 of 44, and the Hounds have now won three straight while North Shore’s skid reached six games.
Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (3) vs Indigenous Sports Academy (5) U17 Prep
Indigenous Sports Academy has its first win of the season, and the middle period is where they earned it. Hendrix Pratt (1G) and Nicodemus Matoo (1G) staked ISA to a 2-0 lead after one. Lucas Davis (1G) cut the gap on a Wenatchee power play early in the second, but the home side answered with two goals 14 seconds apart. Ezra Mercredi-Smith (1G) and Archie Tawiyaka (1G, 1A) did the damage, with Tawiyaka setting up the first and finishing the second. Jakub Palmer (1G, 1A) made it 5-1 before intermission, and three of ISA’s five goals came from defencemen. Wenatchee didn’t fold. Daniel Trifunovic (2G, 1A) scored twice in the third, the first on the power play, with Hunter McIntosh (3A) setting up both. The Wild pulled Reed Hickman for the final minute, but Grayson Girling held the fort and finished with 26 saves on 29 shots.
Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (1) vs St. George’s School (2) U17 Prep
Hudson Waddell (28/29) and Gunner Podollan (36/38) stopped a combined 21 shots in the first as the two teams were held scoreless through 30 minutes of play. That would change when a Ryder Flasko pass from behind the net would take a deflection and beat Podollan to put St. George’s up 1-0. That score would hold until 3:12 into the third when Ethan Miller entered the zone on the power play and beat Waddell with a shot from the top of the circles to even the score. St. George’s would counter with a power play goal of their own five minutes later as a Liam McLean shot would hit the post and bounce off Podollan’s back before rolling in, giving St. George’s their second lucky break of the game. The home side would hold on the rest of the way to claim a 2-1 win.
OHA Edmonton (5) vs Edge School (6/OT) U15
Anderson MacBeath and Nixon Ryan (2G) traded goals exactly one minute apart as the two teams were all square at 1-1 after 20 minutes of play. Ryan then gave the visitors their first lead of the game 2:08 later as they scored three straight goals. Cohen Codner halted the run and tied the game a few minutes later before Duke Hughes (1G, 1A) put OHA Edmonton back on top for the last time. Carter Seabrook would tie the game with just over five minutes to play as he took a cross-crease pass from Falloon and shelved it upstairs on Ayden Medeiros (38/44). In overtime Falloon scored his second of the game on a 2-on-1 off a pass from Smith Gillings, giving Edge the 6-5 win in a thriller. Damon Fleischer (30/35) made 30 saves in net for the win.

Each team scored twice in the first before Pilot Mound took a 6-5 lead into the third period thanks to late period goals by Brycen Faul (2G, 4A) and Dane Magwood (3G). RHA Winnipeg would take the lead 2:53 into the third on goals from Jackson Lussier (2G) and Hunter Lang before Magwood evened the score with a power play marker. An unfortunate bounce for Pilot Mound allowed Lussier to score his second of the game to put the visitors back in front with just over 10 to play. But Pilot Mound wouldn’t go away quietly as Magwood scored with the net empty to tie the game and complete the hat-trick. A late RHA Winnipeg penalty meant a Pilot Mound power play to start overtime where Faul would set-up Nash Ramage (1G, 2A) for the game winner 43 seconds into the extra frame.
