GAME DAY RECAP: October 30, 2026

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (4) vs OHA Edmonton (5/OT) U18 Prep

OHA Edmonton came in without a win in four games, and for most of the morning at Meadows Community Recreation Centre it looked like a fifth would slip away too. Brayden Tucker (2G) opened the scoring on a first-period power play before Winnipeg flipped it in the second through Brady Filmon (1G) and Colton Brum (2G). David Lu (1G), from the back end, squared it seconds after an offensive-zone draw, and Joshua Frazer (1G) restored the lead early in the third with his first goal of the season. RINK Winnipeg needed just 69 seconds to swing it back: Brum (2G) struck on the power play, and Dylan Russell (1G, 1A) made it 4-3. Maddox Slater (38/43) nearly made that hold. With Cam Hoose (31/35) pulled and a Winnipeg minor still ticking, Artello Forestal (1G, 2A) found the back of the net with 44 seconds left. Tucker (2G) needed 88 seconds of overtime to finish it, and the Edmonton bench was over the boards in a flash.

Delta Hockey Academy Black (4/OT) vs North Shore Warriors (3) Women’s U18 Prep

Sixty-seven seconds into overtime, Jojo Mailhot (1G, 1A) ended Delta’s seven-game winless run against North Shore, and the celebration that followed swallowed netminder Melina Bezic (20/23). Getting there took some doing. The visitors outshot the Warriors 24-12 over the first two periods and still trailed 2-0, with Emma Ward (36/40) turning away nearly everything in the home crease. Nadia Briggs (1G) opened the scoring early, and Makenna Bilick (1G) doubled the lead on a second-period power play. Fittingly, it took another Briggs to crack Ward, as Maielle Briggs (1G) cashed in with the extra skater early in the third. Defenceman Arlie Sangha (1G) tied it on another man advantage, and fellow blueliner Sophia Daviss (1G) put Delta ahead 78 seconds later. The Warriors had one more answer. Two Delta minors nine seconds apart gave them a two-skater advantage, and Madison Seitz (1G) buried the equalizer with under two minutes left in regulation.

Fort Erie International Academy (3) vs Okanagan Hockey Ontario (4/OT) East BioSteel

Forty minutes in, this one looked finished. Fort Erie had built a 3-0 lead. Konstantin Zhibarovskii (1G) opened the scoring late in the first, and Kirill Oleinikov (1G, 1A), who set that one up, added another before intermission. Defenceman Jonas Hansen (1G) made it three midway through the second, and Okanagan Hockey Ontario still had nothing on the board. The third told a different story. Kristers Olksna (1G) broke the ice just before the 10-minute mark, and the home side went to work on an extended power play late in regulation. Fritz Toben (1G, 1A) cut it to one, then helped set up Emilio Martínez Alemán (1G, 1A) for his first of the year with under two and a half minutes to play. Overtime lasted 39 seconds, just long enough for Mikelis Kreicbergs (1G, 1A) to end it.

Rothesay Netherwood School (3) vs Bourget College (1) East CCM

Seventeen shots, three goals, one period, and a four-game losing streak was over. For most of the afternoon, Rothesay Netherwood couldn’t solve Zachary Botelho (32/34). Christophe Potvin (1G) gave Bourget College the lead midway through the first, and the home side held it through a scoreless second at home. A holding minor midway through the third changed that. Cameron Spurrell (1G, 1A) converted on the power play that followed for his first goal of the season, and Dixon Beatty (2G) put the visitors ahead just 66 seconds later. Bourget got a man advantage of its own with under four minutes left, but Liam Healy (25/26) and the RNS penalty kill held, leaving the home side 0-for-3 on the day. Beatty (2G) closed it out with an empty-netter in the final 18 seconds, and Spurrell (1G, 1A) picked up the helper.

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (3) vs North Shore Warriors (4) U15

Six games in, North Shore’s U15 group was still waiting on its first win, and RINK Kelowna spent the afternoon at North Shore Winter Club throwing everything it had at the Warriors’ net. The visitors outshot them 47-24, including 19-7 in the first period and 20-6 in the third. Samuel Roberge (44/47) answered nearly all of it. Lincoln Satrum (1G, 1A) opened the scoring on a first-period power play, but Kesler Holmes (2G, 1A) struck twice before intermission, the second unassisted, and Denver Dairon (1G, 2A) made it 3-1 in the second. Coye Baker (1G) cut the gap early in the third, Harrison Coletta (1G, 1A) restored it 105 seconds later off a Holmes (2G, 1A) feed, and Hayes Swanberg (1G) brought Kelowna back within one midway through the period. That left one last test. With 1:29 to play, Sylas Goodale was awarded a penalty shot, and Roberge turned it aside to lock up the Warriors’ first win of the year.

Calgary International Hockey Academy (4) vs OHA Edmonton (0) U15

Calgary International made it three wins in three tries against OHA Edmonton this season, and after a 5-4 game and a 4-2 game earlier in October, this one never got that close. Jett Johnson (24/24) saw to that. The CIHA netminder blanked Edmonton through nine shots in each of the last two periods and finished with the shutout. Up front, Landon Dalziel (1G, 2A) had a hand in three of the four goals. He set up Sawyer Grierson (1G) for a power-play opener late in the first, then assisted again when Brixtin Cenaiko (1G) doubled the lead late in the second. Dalziel (1G, 2A) scored one himself 1:52 into the third, and Thompson Kreba (1G) closed out the scoring midway through the period. Charlie DiFlumeri (2A) chipped in two helpers from the blue line.

Northern Alberta Xtreme (2) vs OHA Edmonton (8) U15 Prep

If you stepped out for a coffee during the second period at Kinsmen Twin Arenas, you missed most of this one. Gannon Smith (1G) gave OHA Edmonton a 1-0 lead late in the first. Then the home side fired 20 shots in the middle frame and turned four of them into goals. Max Holland (1G) and Reid Hartmann (1G, 1A) struck 43 seconds apart early in the period, and Marek Fetter (1G, 1A) scored unassisted on the power play to send Ryder Wagner (21/25) to the bench. His replacement, Marek Swanson (4/8), had been in net for 29 seconds when Deacon Gillespie (2G) beat him. The defenceman added another early in the third, and Cohen Courchesne (1G) and Kiptyn Bodnar (1G) made it seven different Edmonton scorers.. Jace Hilliard (28/30) handled the rest at the other end. Yukon Kim (1G) put Northern Alberta on the board in the third, and Damon Chinski (1G) answered Bodnar’s goal just eight seconds later.

Delta Hockey Academy Green (4) vs Shawnigan Lake School (1) Women’s U18 Prep

Seven wins from ten games to start the season for Delta Hockey Academy Green started their season, with four high-intensity clashes with RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna prior to Friday night, all ending in one-goal games to get DHAG set for Shawnigan Lake School, who they’ll play Friday and Saturday nights. Tess McGee opened the scoring for Shawnigan, but that’s as high as their night would get, with Delta Green storming back from there. Adie Schneider (1G, 1A) tied the game before the break, before three in the third for Delta, led by Emma Biros’ game-winner, lifted Delta Green 4-1.

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (2) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (5) U18 Prep

The Northern Alberta Xtreme were in action only once in the U18 Prep game last weekend, taking a 3-1 win over rivals OHA Edmonton last Friday. Pilot Mound Hockey Academy bested Coeur d’Alene to finish their Thanksgiving weekend on a high note, but had fallen out of the winning column at the hands of CIHA and SAHA last weekend. Quick off the draw, Rylan Johnson (2G) ignited the scoring for NAX in their Featured Matchup with Pilot Mound. Shortly after, Swift Current Broncos prospect Maddox Ramage would tie things up with his 5th of the season. On a Buffaloes powerplay soon after, Brock Vodden would bag his 7th to give Pilot Mound the lead. The Buffaloes took that lead into the second despite being heavily out shot. NAX would amp up the pressure in the second with a handful of early powerplay chances. Zach Henry (51/56) kept the Buffaloes afloat despite the rampant offense but Nash Weyland (2G, 1A) would break the seal with a blistering wrist shot from the top of the circles. Lincoln Eaves would immediately take back the lead for NAX scoring another powerplay goal just 14-seconds after Weyland’s tying tally. NAX would maintain pressure in the third with Weyland bagging his second of the afternoon. Johnson would bury his second as well off a solid shot from the right circle. Henry’s 51-saves gave Pilot Mound some hope but the non-stop attack of NAX would grant them the W in this matchup.

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (6) vs North Shore Warriors (0) U17

North Shore will close the book on October this weekend, with back-to-back clashes with RINK Kelowna predating a Sunday matinee with RINK Winnipeg. Each of the three posed a chance for the Warriors to grab their first victory of the season, but as they did when the two teams faced off on October 3, RINK Kelowna hit the ground running quicker and faster than North Shore. RINK controlled the first, outshooting North Shore 19-6, and led through Matthew Bush (1G, 1A) and Connor Groves’ goals. Griffin Prairie Chicken ended the game with 21 saves for the shutout.

Delta Hockey Academy (13) vs STAR Hockey Academy (4) U17 Prep

STAR Hockey Academy’s U17 Prep squad started the season on a massive high, taking three victories out of Wenatchee to start their U17 Prep season with a perfect weekend. From there, though, their opponents shifted their geographical origin, and STAR looked a team, at times, swept away. Eleven straight losses led them to October’s end, with two games against Delta wrapping things up prior to STAR’s three-game November schedule, three-game December schedule, and Christmas break. Big performances from Delta’s big players shone through, with Mazen Green (3G, 2A), Colby Walker (2G, 3A), and Carson Brown (5A) en route to a 13-4 Delta win.

Ontario Hockey Academy Mavericks (1) vs CIH Academy (4) East CCM

The back half of October has been treating the Ontario Hockey Academy Mavericks well, with an 0-4 start to the month rallied back from with four consecutive victories heading into Friday. CIH Academy was one of those teams to best OHAM earlier in the month, and would capitalize on their chance to do so come Friday. Michal Timko’s first of the year was answered by the Mavericks, but Antoine Bernier’s strike with 36 seconds left gave CIH the lead again. CIH scored two in the third to make it 4-1.

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (17) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (0) U15 Prep

A thrilling 9-8 overtime loss at the hands of Pilot Mound Hockey Academy was the lone dip of October for the RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg, who followed that up with four straight wins, including an 11-0 victory over the Pilot Mound team that had bested them earlier in the month. Back-to-back battles with Prairie Hockey Academy posed the block between RHAW and the month’s end. Sometimes, the story of the game isn’t in the box score. Today is not one of those times. RINK Winnipeg outshot Prairie 103-10. The scoreboard reflected the story told by the shots counter, with RHAW grabbing a hat-trick and eight points from Drew Simpson, six points from Ryan Koenig (3G, 3A), five points from Nash Smook (2G, 3A), five points from Liam Hailstone (1G, 4A), and a hat-trick from Jax Fellner in a double-digit victory.

OHA Edmonton (1) vs Notre Dame Hounds (2) U17

A dramatic 8-7 loss at the hands of the Prairie Hockey Academy for OHA Edmonton gave them two straight regulation losses in the U17 division for the first time this season, a shock given their dominant look to begin October thus far. Both OHAE and Notre Dame’s antagonists this season have gone by similar names and faces, with the Northern Alberta Xtreme beating OHA Edmonton in the first two games of both teams’ regular-season schedule, before moving on and downing the Notre Dame Hounds twice. Notre Dame’s bounce-back performances following the losses to NAX weren’t at the same standard as those of OHAE, making the last weekend of October one in which Notre Dame would be desperate to pull out their first victory since a shootout win over Indigenous Sports Academy on September 23. They needed a hero to do so on Friday, and Aidan Dale was that hero. The Hounds’ goaltender stopped 30 of 31, with Notre Dame’s Axton Ross and Philo Armstrong doing enough to lift Notre Dame to a 2-1 win.

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (10) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (5) U15 Prep

Five straight wins to start the month of October for the Okanagan Hockey Academy came up against regional rivals RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna to finish the month perfect, the same team they’d bested 3-1 last Friday. RHAK’s loss marked their second in two previous October games, with a 12-4 win over Shawnigan Lake on October 4 as their most recent victory. Their high-flying offence continued that prowess into Friday, with 2027 WHL Draft prospect Rowan McGrath posting a monster four goals and six points to lead his club to a double-digit goal output again, with a hat-trick from Hendrik Hesselgrave (3G, 2A) counteracting a formidable Okanagan push in a 10-5 win.

Mount Academy (6) vs CHE Academy (2) East CCM

CHE Academy have felt the season’s ups and the season’s downs in swings so far on the CSSHL’s eastern side, with Friday evening bringing them a Mount Academy squad they’d been bested 4-1 by back at the beginning of October. Mount has seen that win followed up by three losses before Friday, with Benoit Pouliot (1G, 1A) getting Mount on the right track in the first period, scoring with ten seconds left to give Mount Academy a lead into the second. Georgi Pashukhin (2G, 2A) and Samuel Rose scored in quick succession to extend the lead early in the second period, putting it too far out of the reach of CHE Academy in one eventual 6-2 win.

BWC Academy (7) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (2) U15 Prep

BWC Academy’s U15 Prep side plays just once this weekend before a foray to Winnipeg for a U15 Prep showcase to open November, with the Pacific Coast Sea Devils on the opposite side, a team whose October has a lone blemish amongst a sea of victories. By the second period on Friday, BWC had turned it into the Mars Zhang show. Zhang scored a natural hat-trick in the second period, popping three in barely over seven minutes before adding a fourth in the third, leading his team to a big-time win.

Delta Hockey Academy (8) vs Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (3) U17

Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy won an overtime thriller over the North Shore Warriors last Saturday night, now heading into this Friday’s clash with Delta having won four straight, prepared to clash with a DHA side that had seen a 4-1 September followed up with two wins and two losses in October. Coeur D’Alene scored first on Friday and led for almost seven and a half minutes, but after that, a Delta avalanche began. Spencer Atkinson (2G) tied it, Jack Delaney (1G, 1A) gave DHA the 2-1 lead, and Delta scored six straight more in DHA’s 8-3 win.

Notre Dame Hounds (3) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (7) U15

Just one win in five games to start October for RINK Winnipeg was quickly putting pressure on Winnipeg’s U15 team, with a three-game series against the Notre Dame Hounds this weekend a chance to get back into the winning column. After going down a pair, Notre Dame came storming back on Friday, with consecutive goals from Daniel Yun (1G, 1A), Nixon Laurent, and Jacob Peters turning a 2-0 deficit into a 3-2 Notre Dame lead in the second period. Things flipped there, though, as Hudson Mascarenhas’ (1G, 2A) power-play goal hit back for Winnipeg, with Hudson Reich putting Winnipeg back in front before the end of the second.

Notre Dame Hounds (3) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (4/OT) U17 Prep

Five straight wins for the Notre Dame Hounds had been put to a sudden halt last weekend, with their streak running into RINK Winnipeg and PMHA, losing two and dropping one in a shootout heading into Friday’s clash with the same RHAW team that had bested them 4-1 and 4-3. It looked to be Notre Dame’s night through two periods, with the Hounds up 3-1 heading into the third, before the game would flip on a dime. David Ring (1G, 1A) scores less than a minute into the third, with Declan McNicol making It 3-3 before four minutes of the third period had been played. Ring would prove the set-up man in overtime, sending a sweet saucer feed to Eli Wasylyk (1G, 2A), who converted to win the game for RINK Winnipeg.

Delta Hockey Academy White (4) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (1) U15

Nick Zhang himself led the way for Delta White on Friday, with the U15 goaltender stopping 29 of 30 against an OHA team that just couldn’t beat him more than once. Goals from Evan Bamara, Max Pascual, and Levi Reedman (1G, 1A) put Delta three up through two, and while Ryo Riva pulled OHA back into the game early in the third, it wasn’t close enough, with Zhang shutting the door and leading Delta to the win.

BWC Academy (4/OT) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (3) U18 Prep

A pair of high-end defensemen traded power-play goals in the first period, with Cortland LeMieux and Elias Papadatos (1G, 1A) sending the game into the second tied 1-1. Daniel Makovetiskiy and Kayden Pratt (2G) traded goals in the third to send the game to overtime, with Pratt striking again just 49 seconds into the extra frame to seal BWC’s win.

St. George’s School (5/SO) vs BWC Academy (4) U15

St. George’s School edged BWC Academy 5-4 in a shootout following a back-and-forth contest on Friday. Adam Johnson scored twice, including a power-play marker, to give St. George’s a 2-0 lead early in the second. BWC responded with two power-play goals of their own from Cassius Briscoe and Marcus Da Silva to even the score heading into the third. Dominic Guizzo restored the St. George’s lead midway through the period, but goals from Jace Watts and William Liu put BWC ahead with under three minutes remaining. Eli Faulds answered with just five seconds left in regulation to force overtime. After a scoreless extra frame, Rhys Borisoff and Matthew Fu converted in the shootout to secure the St. George’s victory. Jack Jeffery made 37 saves in the win.

Delta Hockey Academy (5) vs Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (6) U18 Prep

Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy overcame a late third-period deficit to defeat Delta Hockey Academy 6-5 on Friday. Mateo Gil and Kirill Zhikharev scored in the opening period to give Coeur d’Alene an early 2-0 advantage before Nicolas Peach got Delta on the board. Gil added his second early in the middle frame, but Peach responded with his second to keep Delta within one. Zhikharev restored the two-goal cushion just 52 seconds into the third before Delta rattled off three unanswered goals courtesy of Peter Banicevic (1G, 2A), William Trolland, and Jack Morgan (1G, 2A) to take a 5-4 lead. Gavin Payne would take over from there, tying the game on the power play with just over three minutes remaining before scoring the eventual game-winner at 18:57. Sam Trnecka stopped 37 of 42 shots in the Coeur d’Alene victory.
