GAME DAY RECAP: February 21, 2026

Mount Academy (2) vs King’s Edgehill School (4) East U18 Prep

King’s Edgehill continued their season‑long grip on this matchup, winning a third consecutive game against Mount Academy with a composed 4–2 win that looked a lot like their earlier victories: early control, special‑teams execution, and just enough pushback to withstand a mid‑game surge. KES set the tone late in the first when Kasper Kossila (2G) opened the scoring at 18:27, then doubled the lead early in the second through Liam Boone (1G). When Kossila struck again on the power play at 8:03, it felt like the game might tip into runaway territory, but Mount Academy, fresh off an 8–0 win the day prior, finally found life. Mitchell Goodine (1G) and Cohen Paul (1G) scored 53 seconds apart to cut the deficit to one and briefly flip momentum. That window didn’t last long. Grady Betts (1G, 1A) restored the two‑goal cushion five minutes into the third, and from there KES managed the clock while Mount Academy’s parade to the penalty box erased any chance of a late push.

Edge School (5) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy Black (1) Female U18 Prep

Edge School kept rolling with the confidence of a team on a four‑game heater, overwhelming OHA Black from the opening puck drop and skating to a 5–1 win built on relentless shot volume and a top line that dictated every shift. Avaya McCann (2G) opened the scoring midway through the first and doubled her tally early in the second, while Jana Mitenko (2G, 1A) matched her stride for stride, striking late in the first and again early in the third as Edge turned sustained zone time into a multi‑goal cushion that never looked threatened. Cassia Severin (3A) quietly drove the entire offensive engine, touching three of the first four goals, and Sara Hettle (1G, 1A) capped the night with a late marker to finish off a 68‑shot barrage. OHA Black finally broke through in the final minutes via Gracie‑Lee Mowbray (1G), but Jenna Ring (30/31) was otherwise unshakable, backstopping an Edge group that continues to look every bit like a team finding its stride at the right time.

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (5) vs Yale Hockey Academy (6/OT) U18 Prep

Yale and RHA Winnipeg traded punches in a wild U18 Prep game, a 6–5 overtime win for Yale that swung back and forth until a power‑play dagger finally ended it. RHA Winnipeg struck first on a man‑advantage through Maximilian Koppel (2G, 1A), but Yale answered with two in the opening frame and then looked ready to run away with it after second‑period goals from Gunho Choi (1G, 1A) and Tony Cabelka (1G) plus an early third period marker from Jonathan Bitonti (2G, 1A). Down 5–2 and struggling to generate sustained pressure, RINK Winnipeg flipped the script in the third: Koppel buried his second, Caden McLeod (1G) on the power play, and Athens Shingoose (1G) completed a three‑goal surge in a 10‑minute span to send everyone into extra time. But Yale, a group that’s been in tight games all month, won it when Tanner Massey (1G, 1A) struck on the man‑advantage at 4:29 of OT. Both goaltenders were under siege, Chase Charriere (40/46) and Jason Ho (41/46), but it was Yale’s special teams and Bitonti’s three‑point night that ultimately separated two teams who matched each other shot for shot.

Indigenous Sports Academy (8) vs Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (3) U17 Prep

Indigenous Sports Academy finally snapped out of their long skid in emphatic fashion, overwhelming Wenatchee 8–3 in a game that never stopped tilting their way after a wild, goal‑trading first period. Wenatchee struck first through Peyten Shilton (1G), but ISA answered with four in the frame, Archie Tawiyaka (1G), Xavior Iron (1G), Lawson Gardipy (1G, 2A) and a late power‑play marker from Owen Sinclair (2G, 1A), each goal building momentum for a group that’s been searching for a breakout night for weeks. Lincoln Kitchemonia (1G, 1A) and Hendrix Pratt (1G) extended the lead in the second before Sinclair buried his second to restore a three‑goal cushion after Wenatchee briefly pushed back on the power play. Tyson Bird (1G, 1A) added the lone third‑period strike to cap a statement offensive showing, while Holden Fauchon (49/52) quietly delivered a great goaltending performance, turning aside 49 shots to ensure ISA’s most complete win of the year never drifted off course

King Heights Academy (0) vs Rothesay Netherwood School (6) East U18 Prep

Rothesay Netherwood made quick work of King Heights in a 6–0 win that felt decided almost from the opening faceoff, striking just 15 seconds in and never loosening their grip on a matchup between two teams trending in opposite directions. Drew Moores (1G, 1A) set the tone immediately before Brody Dawson (2G, 1A) doubled the lead later in the first, and from there RNS simply layered pressure shift after shift against a KHA group coming off an 8–0 loss the night before. Kilian Alves Pereira (1G) added the lone second‑period marker, and the third turned into a full‑on runaway as Dixon Beatty (1G), Brodie McClement (1G, 1A) and Dawson again piled on in a three‑goal burst. Dylan Pelletier (3A) quietly drove the offense all afternoon, while Cesare Della Santina posted the shutout behind a great defensive effort, sealing a dominant RNS performance and handing King Heights their second straight lopsided defeat.

STAR Hockey Academy (2) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (6) U15 Prep

Pilot Mound controlled this one from the opening minutes, handing STAR a 6–2 loss in a game that tilted heavily towards PMHA long before the third‑period consolation goals arrived. Hinata Hashimoto (1G) and Trenton Wytinck (1G) built a 2–0 cushion in the first, and the second period turned into the true separation point: Max Faulkner (3G) blew the game open with a shorthanded strike and another at 14:26, while Edin Korajac (1G) added his 15th of the season as PMHA’s depth rolled shift after shift. Faulkner completed his hat‑trick early in the third to make it 6–0 before STAR finally found some push, getting goals from Cole Carter (1G) and Matthew Atherley (1G) to salvage a bit of momentum late. Kobe Parker (21/23) stayed steady behind a Pilot Mound group that dictated pace throughout, while handing STAR their eighth straight loss.

Calgary International Hockey Academy (3) vs St. George’s School (2) U15 Prep

Calgary International and St. George’s played a chess match disguised as a U15 Prep game, with CIHA grinding out a 3–2 win that swung on late execution after nearly 50 minutes of deadlock. CIHA struck first on a power‑play blast from Eric Sexton (1G) just two minutes in, only for SGS to steal back momentum in the final minute of the first period when Nick Hill (1G) buried a late equalizer that flipped the feel of the opening frame. The second period tightened into a trench war, neither side giving an inch, before SGS finally broke through early in the third on a power‑play finish from Max Hoeft (1G, 1A). That goal seemed to tilt the ice toward St. George’s, until CIHA’s late surge arrived. Cole Chudyk (1G) tied it with under five minutes left, and Loic Lebel (1G) delivered the dagger at 17:27, capping a third‑period push that felt inevitable once Calgary found its legs. Ty Tunke (12/14) didn’t face much volume but made the timely stops he needed, backstopping CIHA to a bounce‑back win over a strong SGS side that had controlled long stretches but couldn’t close the door.

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (4) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (5/OT) U17 Prep

Pacific Coast edged RHA Winnipeg 5–4 in overtime in a game that swung like a pendulum for all 63 minutes, a matchup where special teams, momentum swings, and two red‑hot top lines kept trading blows until the final rush. PCHA jumped out fast with back‑to‑back goals from Kaelen Rusjan (1G, 1A) and Owen Bate (1G, 1A), only for RHAW to flip the script in the second: Brady Filmon (2G) struck twice, both set up by Drayden Champagne (2A), and Colton Ross (1G, 2A) added his 29th of the season as Winnipeg rattled off three straight power‑play goals to seize a 3–2 lead. Owen Hyde (1G, 2A) answered late in the frame to tie it, and the third period brought another exchange: Atley Feniuk (1G) restored the RINK Winnipeg lead on the man‑advantage before Dane Dyer (1G) buried the equalizer with five minutes left. Overtime lasted just long enough for PCHA’s top line to touch the puck, Hyde to Bate to Ethan Parsons (1G), who snapped home the winner at 3:24 to cap a night where Pacific Coast’s timely finishing outlasted RHA Winnipeg’s power‑play surge. Rio Manhas (32/36) and Miller Fettes (28/33) both battled under heavy pressure, but it was PCHA who found the final punch.

Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (8) vs North Shore Warriors (3) U18 Prep

Jack Poole (1G, 1A) opened the scoring just 1:03 in but it was CDA who led 4-1 after 20 as Gage Kiselbach (2G, 1A) and Hudson Podollan (4G) scored power play goals before Kiselbach and Sal Costa scored even strength goals 1:30 apart to close out the period. Ellis Martschuk halted the run 5:03 into the second but Carson White-Sibley (1G, 1A) and Podollan quickly replied for CDA, with Podollan’s goal coming shorthanded. Ethan Patterson (1G, 1A) and Podollan then traded goals to close out the period as CDA led 7-3 after 40. The hot stick would continue in the third for Podollan as he scored his fourth goal of the game, with 1/3 of his goals this season coming today against North Shore. Bennett Byers (27/30) made 27 saves to secure the win.

Northern Alberta Xtreme (1) vs North Shore Warriors (4) Female U18 Prep

Haylie Hedges (36/37) and Ayla Whitney (52/56) kept clean sheets in the first as the game remained scoreless until Chloe Burgher and Alexa Roberts (2G, 1A) scored power play goals in the second for North Shore. Roberts added the games first even strength marker 6:15 into the third as North Shore held a 3-0 advantage. Christina Terzariol would get NAX on the board midway through the third with a power play goal of her own, but it was quickly countered by a 5-on-5 goal by Lov Lumley 1:12 later. Hedges shut the door the rest of the way, making 17 saves in the third, as North Shore earned the 4-1 win in Winnipeg Saturday morning. Peyton Mages (3A) tied for the game lead with three points in the win.

Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (8) vs Okanagan Hockey Ontario (5) U18 Prep

OHO grabbed the game’s first goal as Thomas Garas found the back of the net 7:52 in. Seth Banner and Elijah Schneggenburger (1G, 1A) countered with goals for Wenatchee 3:02 apart midway through the first before Tom Boudet (1G, 2A) tied the game late in the first with a power play marker. Aidan Yu (4G, 1A) restored the Wenatchee lead 1:32 into the second before he traded goals with Byrnell Roberts (2G). Roberts then tied the game with a power play goal of his own, leading to Sean Strasser (1G, 4A) and Adam Clark trading goals to close out the period. Deadlocked at 5-5 in the third, Dawson Brown scored the eventual game winner 6:35 into the third for Wenatchee. Yu put the icing on the cake as he added two late goals to give him four in the game and nine on the season as Wenatchee grabbed an 8-5 win. Tyler O’Keefee (36/41) made 36 saves to earn his second win of the season.

Prairie Hockey Academy (6) vs Yale Hockey Academy (3) U17 Prep

Luke Pratte (2G) scored on the power play with four seconds left in the first to give Prairie a 1-0 lead at the break. Bryden Wagner (2G, 2A) and Owen Grassick (1G, 1A) scored in quick succession for Prairie to start the second period. Ryder Buick (1G, 1A) would get Yale on the board midway through the second before Wagner and Trae Alexander traded goals 44 seconds apart to close out the second. Pratte gave Prairie some more breathing room midway through the third, which was needed as Alex Li brought Yale within two with 2:37 remaining. But Reid Florent found the back of the empty net just 36 seconds later as Prairie earned the 6-3 win backstopped by Kaidyn Thomas (33/36) and his 33 save effort.

South Alberta Hockey Academy (6) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (1) Female U18 Prep

After starting the season at 8-9-0, SAHA have won their 10th straight game, dating back to November 29, 2025. Teylor Crocker scored just 19 seconds in, and Sophie Erlam (1G, 3A) scored the eventual game winner while on the power play midway through the first. Elise Slywka scored the lone OHA goal a few minutes later as it was a 2-1 game heading into the second. Both teams put 12 shots on net in the middle frame but only SAHA found the scoreboard as defenseman Riley Bourque (2G) and forward Maria Facca (1G, 3A) scored for the visitors. Captain Kamryn Reiber (1G, 1A) added SAHA’s third power play goal of the morning in the third and Bourque added her second of the game to round out the scoring. Phoenix Buckler (29/30) and Maive Gosselin Berg (42/48) were in net for their respective teams.

AJ Bryan and Brayden McBride added goals 33 seconds apart midway through the first as Notre Dame held a commanding 5-0 lead 12:20 in. Cole Van Oene halted the run late in the first and Mason Wallace scored the lone second period goal as Shawnigan looked to get back into the game, trailing by three heading into the third. RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (8) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (6) U15 Prep

A high scoring affair started when Easton Pitz (3G, 1A) scored a power play goal 6:05 into the first. David Ring (2G) added his ninth of the season 1:26 later as RHA Winnipeg led 2-0 after 20. The action picked up in the second with Pitz and defenseman Marko Malbasa (2G, 1A) scoring 1:03 apart early in the second before Levi Thiessen and Cohen Short (2G, A) scored 13 seconds apart. Short found the back of the net again 34 seconds later as OHA quickly climbed within one. Malbasa and Beck Van Kemenade (1G, 1A) replied for RHA Winnipeg to give themselves some breathing room, but a Cooper De Wal (1G, 1A) power play goal with less than a minute left in the second made it a two-goal game heading into the third. Pitz completed the hat-trick 1:08 into the third but OHA wouldn’t go away quietly as Jace Williams scored 1:17 later and Mason Liebel brought them within one with 1:50 remaining. But Ring secured the RHA Winnipeg win as he hit double digit goals on the season 49 seconds later.

Edge School (3) vs Calgary International Hockey Academy (2) U15

In a battle of the two Calgary teams Jake Sander (1G, 2A) and Nixon Reid-Dinning (1G, 2A) gave Edge a 2-0 lead heading into the first period. It was all about the special teams for STAR early as Zakhar Kovalenko (2G) and Cam Hoggan scored power play goals late in the first before Kovalenko added a shorthanded marker 4:39 into the second. CIHA started to show signs of life late in the second as Ryder Young (1G, 1A) and Max Mullen scored even strength goals less than two minutes apart to make it a one goal game. Sutton Hodgetts and Thomas Figura (1G, 1A) kept that momentum rolling early in the third as they gave CIHA a lead 4:17 into the third. Colton Brum tied the game midway through the third to send the two teams to overtime, and eventually a shootout. Edge School (1/SO) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (0) U18 Prep

It was all about the goalies in this one as Carsten Leyerzapf (31/31) stopped all 31 shots through 65 minutes of play before stopping all 4 RHA Kelowna shooters in the shootout, while Micah Davidson (33/33) was perfect on the first 36 shots he faced, before finally being beat in the fourth round of the shootout. Luke Huska was the lone skater to find the back of the net in this one, doing so in the fourth-round of the shootout to give Edge the 1-0 win.

Notre Dame Hounds (5) vs St. George’s School (6) U17 Prep

It was all St. George’s in the first half of the game as Alex Rode (1G, 1A), Holden Tuttle (1G, 1A) and Zach Lam scored power play markers and Beck Charlton added an even strength goal to give the home side a 4-0 lead 10:39 into the second. Luke White (2G, 1A) would get Notre Dame on the board 42 seconds later and Reg Huebner (1G, 2A) made it a two-goal game a few minutes later. Lundgren replied for Notre Dame 1:22 later and White made it a one goal game with 35 seconds left. Ultimately, the clock ran out on Notre Dame as Mathias Dishneau (26/31) stopped 26 of the 31 shots he faced to give his team the 6-5 triumph.

Notre Dame Hounds (1) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (14) U15

Philo Armstrong scored the lone goal for Notre Dame in defeat.

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (4) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (5) U18 Prep

Pacific Coast had total control of the game in the first as Parson Shahi (1G, 1A) and Jack MacMillan scored 29 seconds apart and Cayson Lambert added his fourth of the season four minutes later. Austin Jefferies would get Pilot Mound on the board 3:19 into the second but defenseman Declan Andrews (1G, 2A) countered with the second Pacific Coast power play goal of the game, finding the back of the net with six seconds left in the period. Kane Nicholas (1G, 1A) extended the advantage 1:55 into the third as the home squad looked set to pull away from the visitors. Knox Burton (2G, 1A) had other plans as he scored twice, and defenseman Noah Hudson added his first of the season to bring Pilot Mound within one with 5:46 left to play. But Kole Anderosov (42/46) finished with 42 saves and shut the door in the final five to secure the PCHA win. Cole Landreville (4A) recorded a point on all four PMHA goals in the loss.

OHA Edmonton (3) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (4/OT) Female U18 Prep

RINK Kelowna outlasted OHA Edmonton 4–3 in overtime in a wild, special‑teams‑driven battle that swung back and forth until Alida Korte (2G, 2A) finally ended it at 3:54 of OT, capping a third‑period surge that nearly slipped away. OHA struck first late in the second when Kyla Pappas (1G) buried on a 5‑on‑3, but the third period detonated instantly: Hayley McDonald (1G) tied it 21 seconds in on the power play, Korte added her first minutes later, and Kennedy Sisson (1G, 1A) restored the lead again on another RHA Kelowna power play as the momentum fully flipped. OHA Edmonton refused to fold, though, Taryn Leighton (1G) clawed one back at 10:12, and with 27 seconds left, Avery Sam (1G, 1A) hammered home a dramatic power‑play equalizer to force overtime. But OT belonged to RHA Kelowna. A clean breakout, a sharp McDermid feed, and Korte (2G, 2A) snapped home her 24th to seal a win powered by timely finishing and a composed 37‑save performance from Jaya Schippel (37/40), ending a tense, penalty‑filled matchup between two of the division’s top contenders.

Lower Canada College (6) vs Bishop’s College School (4) East U17 Prep

Lower Canada College had to dig themselves out of an early 3–0 hole, but once they found their footing, they absolutely seized control of the game and never let go, storming back for a 6–4 win over Bishop’s College School. After BCS struck three times in the opening 11 minutes Cohen (1G, 1A), Roy (1G, 1A), and Lamarche (1G) all on the board, LCC flipped the script with a power‑play spark from David Fellen (2G) and a buzzer‑beater from Matthew Boroff (2G) to cut the deficit before the break. The second period belonged entirely to LCC as Simsovic (1G) tied it, Golemme (1G) pushed them ahead, and Boroff buried his second of the night to complete a four‑goal swing. From there, LCC tightened the screws, outshooting BCS 27–9 in the middle frame and 51–39 overall, while Fellen’s second of the game on a third‑period power play provided the insurance they needed to close out a statement comeback win.

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (2) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (4) U17

Prairie kept its grip on this season series with another methodical, momentum‑draining win, jumping out to a 2–0 lead in the first and never really letting RINK Winnipeg breathe despite a late push. Kase Gellner (1G) opened the scoring and Soren Hayden (1G, 2A) doubled it in the dying seconds of the period, one of those gut‑punch goals that changes the temperature of a game. RINK Winnipeg finally punched back in the third with a short‑handed spark from Grayson Speirs (1G) and a follow‑up from Julien Crook (1G) to tie things, but every time they inched close, Prairie answered with structure and finish. Tristan Reimer’s (1G) power‑play marker restored the lead, and Jake Myhre’s (1G) insurance goal sealed a 4–2 final, backed by a 42‑save performance from DJ Mecas that kept the score from ballooning even further. Prairie’s depth and pace carried the night while RHA Winnipeg’s flashes just weren’t enough to flip the script

Edge School (5) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (2) U15 Prep

Edge School punched first, punched often, and never really let RINK Kelowna breathe in a 5–2 win that looked decided by the midpoint of the opening period, powered by a three‑goal burst that set the tone for a composed, wire‑to‑wire performance. Cruz Schwabe (2G) opened the scoring at 3:28 before Brody Antignani (1G, 2A) and Cade Mazurski (1G) piled on to make it 3–0, each goal coming off clean puck movement and extended zone time that RHA Kelowna simply couldn’t disrupt. Ben Tyssen (1G) gave RINK Kelowna a lifeline late in the first, and Rayman Sall (1G) cut the gap to one early in the third, but that was as close as it got. Edge steadied, leaned on a strong night from Caden Stanley (19/21), and closed the door with a power‑play insurance marker from Schwabe before Luke Bodtker (1G, 1A) sealed it at 17:59. Antignani’s three‑point night and Edge’s ability to answer every push kept them in full control, extending their momentum after a big win the night before while handing RHA Kelowna another frustrating road result.

South Alberta Hockey Academy (2) vs Yale Hockey Academy (5) U15 Prep

Yale flexed the depth and inevitability that’s carried them to a 25–1 record, pulling away late for a 5–2 win over South Alberta in a game that stayed competitive far longer than the shot clock suggested. SAHA actually punched back early in the second when Mason Bryksa (1G) tied the game on a power play, but Yale, outshooting them 58–36 and tilting the ice for long stretches, simply waited for their moment. It arrived in the third. Marcus Phillips (2G) buried twice in a five‑minute span, the second on the man‑advantage, before Ryker Stevens (1G) added another power‑play strike just 23 seconds later to turn a 1–1 grind into a sudden three‑goal cushion. Kaleb Newson (1G) tacked on a late one to seal it, while Cole Anderson (53/58) kept SAHA afloat far longer than expected under a barrage of pressure. Logan Hwang (34/36) stayed steady at the other end, backstopping a Yale group that once again showed why they’ve been nearly untouchable all season.

King’s Edgehill School (8) vs King Heights Academy (5) East U18 Prep

King’s Edgehill and King Heights traded haymakers in a wild, momentum‑swinging eight‑goal thriller, but it was KES’s avalanche of second‑ and third‑period scoring, powered by a four‑goal masterpiece from Alex Doyle (4G, 1A), that ultimately buried KHA in an 8–5 decision. After KHA stunned the building with three straight in the first from Richardson (1G), Kolzin (1G), Koss (2G, 1A) to take a 3–1 lead, KES flipped the script with a ruthless four‑goal surge in the second, highlighted by Boone’s (2G) second of the night and Doyle’s first of four. KHA pushed back early in the third with goals from Ceh (1G, 1A) and Koss to make it 5–5, but Doyle took over the rest of the way, completing a natural hat trick in under five minutes, short‑handed, even‑strength, and on the power play, to slam the door on a furious comeback attempt. KES outshot KHA 41–26 and went 1‑for‑3 on the power play, while KHA finished 0‑for‑5.

CIH Academy (3) vs Ontario Hockey Academy (8) East U17 Prep

Ontario Hockey Academy kept its perfect record against CIH this season intact with an 8–3 win that turned into a runaway after a chaotic, seven‑goal first period that briefly hinted at an upset before OHA’s depth and shot volume completely took over. CIH actually held a 3–1 lead late in the opening frame thanks to a brilliant start from Daniel Fuchs (2G) and a solo effort from Toby Kindred (1G, 1A), but OHA erased it in a blink: Artem Kovalenko (1G), Kingston Dery (1G, 1A) and Mykyta Staskevych (1G, 2A) all scored in a three‑minute span to flip the game 4–3 before intermission. From there, it was all Ontario Hockey Academy. Dylan Bairstow (1G) and Yehor Pyshalko (2G) stretched the lead in the second, and a third‑period power‑play strike from Maksym Shtepa (1G, 2A) put the game out of reach as OHA piled up a staggering 71 shots. CIH goaltender Shahrukh Levac (63/71) was heroic just to keep the score respectable.

Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (3/OT) vs North Shore Warriors (2) U17 Prep

Coeur d’Alene stole a dramatic 3–2 overtime win from North Shore in a game that felt like it was slipping away until the very last moment, only for CDA’s top line to deliver one more punch when it mattered most. Gavin Payne (1G) opened the scoring with 42 seconds left in the first, but the Warriors, coming off a confidence‑building win the night before, answered early in the second through Cole Gann (1G, 1A). CDA regained control minutes later when Preston Dalebout (1G) buried a rebound to restore the lead, and from there Jackson Wagner (35/37) turned the game into a goaltending clinic, holding North Shore at bay through wave after wave of pressure. But NSW refused to go quietly, tying the game with just 18 seconds left in regulation on an Ollie Demarco (1G) scramble finish that stunned the building. Overtime, though, lasted only 44 seconds, Camden Masterson (1G, 1A) took a feed from Knox Vogel (1A), and snapped home the winner to cap CDA’s second straight win over the Warriors this season.

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (1) vs Delta Hockey Academy Black (6) Female U18 Prep

Delta Hockey Academy Black fell in a thriller of a contest on Friday, 7-6 in a shootout against RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg. DHAB picked up the first goal of the game from Emily Gerdel (2G), with the defenceman scoring her first goal of the season in her twenty-seventh game. 95 seconds later, Myah Kang (1G, 2A) doubled Delta’s lead and pushed the snowball down the hill. That saying, DHAB’s momentum grew, with Lexi Howitt (1G, 2A) scoring to make it 3-0 before Kiernan Ledoux picked up two goals of her own. Gerdel scored her second at the end of the third to put the cherry on top of a dominant Delta Black victory.

South Alberta Hockey Academy (4) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (1) U18 Prep

One win and one loss so far this weekend for the South Alberta Hockey Academy made Saturday the decider of whether SAHA would escape the three-game set with a winning or a losing record. A goal apiece in the first kept things close, but SAHA took over from there, with consecutive goals from Damen Vanderberg (2G), Karter Kurpjuweit, and Kingston Chisholm putting them three up and leaving OHA well in the rearview mirror. Despite the 4-1 scoreline in SAHA’s favour, OHA outshot their opponent, and SAHA’s Hunter Zarislak needed to stop 30 of 31 shots for the victory.

South Alberta Hockey Academy (2) vs Delta Hockey Academy (3) U17 Prep

Wins in the U17 Prep division against Delta Hockey Academy haven’t been easy to come by this season, with only one team able to beat Delta in regulation in the league this season prior to Saturday. The ever-capable South Alberta Hockey Academy bested Okanagan Hockey Academy on Friday and took that momentum straight into the beginning of Saturday’s game against Delta. SAHA sprinted in front, leading through one and grabbing an early second-period goal from Eric Schrock doubled the South Alberta advantage. Delta came charging back in the second, though, and within eight minutes they’d turned the game around. Brady Cyr pulled DHA back within one, Sebastian Joslin levelled the game at two on a powerplay, and Ethan Kitchen scored his sixth goal in his last three games to put Delta in front. DHA were able to hold SAHA to a mere four shots in the third period, killing off both of SAHA’s last two power plays to hold on and survive for a 3-2 win.

Northern Alberta Xtreme (5) vs BWC Academy (4) U18 Prep

The Northern Alberta Xtreme and BWC Academy’s U18 Prep teams are both amongst the best in the division this season, with strikingly similar records leaving little separating the two squads prior to Saturday’s head-to-head clash. BWC made good on their first-period chances, nabbing goals from Keagan Lundie and Elias Papadatos (2G) to go two in front. Kalen Miles pulled NAX back within one before the first ended, but BWC would snatch the two-goal cushion back early in the second period. From there, though, the game was all NAX. Their momentum and threatening of the BWC net didn’t stop increasing and found a way back into the game with a Luke Samu shorthanded goal igniting the contest. Barely 90 seconds after Samu scored, Easton Doran potted his first goal in four games to tie the game, and NAX simply twisted the knife in from there. Ahmad Fayad (1G, 2A) and Luke Dumas scored less than two minutes apart to close out a four-goal NAX second period and give them a lead through forty minutes that they’d see out until the game’s end, even if Papadatos scored one more in the third to make NAX a little nervous at the end.

Okanagan Hockey Academy (0) vs Delta Hockey Academy (4) U17

Delta Hockey Academy’s U17 squad played an excellent three-game series against the ever-capable BWC Academy last weekend, full of momentum as they came into back-to-back games against Okanagan Hockey Academy this weekend. It took barely three minutes for Josh Racic to give Delta the lead, and once Delta were in front, they’d do an excellent job of protecting the lead. DHA killed off all six OHA power plays over the course of the game, partially thanks to the consistent backstopping of Lucas Disiewich in the Delta crease, who made 30 saves for the shutout. Linden Kennedy scored his first goal since early December to double the Delta lead and two more later in the game secured their victory.

Okanagan Hockey Ontario (0) vs Kuper Academy (8) East U17 Prep

Kuper Academy’s dominance of the Eastern U17 Prep division wasn’t threatened in Saturday’s clash with Okanagan Hockey Ontario, as Kuper hit the ground running from the outset and never looked back. They’d get four in the first and built on it from there with Thomas Issa scoring four goals, Angelo Colletti Jr. (1G, 3A) recording four points, and Matteo Valluzzi stopped 19 of 19 for the shutout.

North Shore Warriors (6) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (2) U15 Prep

North Shore’s U15 Prep side had an extremely difficult schedule to kick off February, facing down four extremely difficult games, all four ending in losses. A 6-2 win over the Notre Dame Hounds on Friday was a step in the right direction for North Shore who looked to build upon their Friday night win with another solid outing against Pacific Coast. North Vancouver, BC native Will Thompson (2G, 2A) made an impact early, providing Maddin Neale with a primary assist on Neale’s early goal, and scoring himself on a powerplay later in the first period. PCHA started the second period on a high note, scoring to make it 2-1, but couldn’t keep up with North Shore following that. The Warriors rattled off three to close out the second and one more to begin the third, with Thompson scoring his second on North Shore’s last powerplay of the game, helping North Shore over the finish line for the victory.

Northern Alberta Xtreme (6) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (1) U15

A 4-3 overtime loss suffered by the Northern Alberta Xtreme at the hands of OHA Edmonton to start February was a negative way for NAX to kick off the month, but since, rattled off three consecutive victories, including an overtime victory over St. George’s School last Sunday. Their game against Prairie Hockey Academy on Saturday was a significantly more straightforward one, with NAX scoring two in the first and two in the first three minutes of the second to grab total control of the game. Kendon Peacock scored twice and Myer Hipkins grabbed three assists on NAX’s six goals in the win.

Delta Hockey Academy (8) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (5) U15 Prep

Two of the top U15 Prep teams clashed in Abbotsford on Saturday, with two of the top five ranked teams in the vision engaging in their second head-to-head clash this season, with the first ending in a shootout victory for Delta back on November 1. Delta came in having won 13 consecutive games, and while NAX stayed right in the fight in the first, DHA took a three-goal lead in the second. Defenceman Eli Vickers (2G) scored a pair for goals, including the last of Delta’s three quick goals. DHA’s special teams went to work later, grabbing a powerplay goal from Jake Dunlop and shorthanded goal from Miles Teiffel (2G). Delta won by three, but goaltender Brayden Allan still needed to make 40 saves in the win.

Rothesay Netherwood School (4/SO) vs Mount Academy (3) East U18 Prep

Rothesay Netherwood School and Mount Academy played a scoreless first half of the hockey game, with the game remaining 0-0 until the last ten minutes of the second. In a nine-minute and fifteen second span, the game saw both teams combined for nine goals before the end of the second period. Mount Academy took a 3-2 lead into the third, where Jesse Dunlap (1G, 1A) notched his second point of the game to level the score at three apiece, before teammate Drew Moores picked up the only goal of the shootout. Rothesay came back from 1-0 and 3-1 deficits to earn the 4-3 shootout win.

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy vs BWC Academy U17 Prep

Adam Zamecnik was able to cut BWC Academy’s lead in half with a late first period goal. However, BWC Academy wasn’t messing around this Saturday afternoon. Jacob Napoleon (3G, 2A) and Ryan Fox (2G) would net another pair for the Lions in the second, but the real damage was coming just around the corner. BWC Academy would add another five unanswered in the final frame. Napoleon would register a hat-trick, coming into the game with only one goal on the year. Connor Liu (1G, 3A), Kayden Pratt (1G, 2A) Jaxen McFegan (3A) and Zack Jones (1G, 2A) would all post impressive outings as the final score checkout out at 9-2. Maddox Ramage would net a late one for Pilot Mound, scoring shorthanded.

Balmoral Hall School vs Shawnigan Lake School Female U18 Prep

Kaitlyn Harvey would open the scoring on the powerplay for Balmoral Hall while Kate Chuback doubled the lead only 19-seconds into the second. Leah Hill (2G, 1A) would fetch one back for Shawnigan before the end of the second, and that one would prove costly in a comeback attempt heading forward. Shawnigan would open the third with three unanswered goals including Jordan Serdachny’s first of the season. Veteran forward Grace Cooper (1G, 1A) would score the eventual game winner in that stretch as Balmoral wasn’t able to respond, getting outshot 21-7 in the third alone. Jordyn Kemp (24/27) would make those six extra stops in the third, backing Shawnigan to victory.

Prairie Hockey Academy vs Delta Hockey Academy U18 Prep

A fast paced first period had Saturday’s Featured Game looking to be a fierce one. After Maxum Pyatt (1G, 1A) got Delta’s third via a shorthanded breakaway, Grant Gliege (1G, 1A) would cut things back to within one, looking to generate some momentum heading into the second. However, an early turnover resulted in a back breaking goal by William Trolland. Delta wouldn’t step on the break from this point onward. Jack Morgan (1G, 2A) would net another shorthanded goal for Delta while Dylan Hurren (1G, 1A) scored on the powerplay. It didn’t help Prairie either that Matthew Wong (27/29) was playing on his head, making a handful of key saves to stop Prairie dead in their tracks. Delta would add another three in the third, capping off an 8-2 victory in Saturday’s Featured Game.

Northern Alberta Xtreme vs Okanagan Hockey Academy U17 Prep

It would take awhile and it would come unexpected. Grady Monsen opened the scoring for OHA shorthanded beyond the halfway point of this contest. However, on the same penalty Barrett Fogolin would make up for NAX’s mistake. Tied up heading into the third, Maxx Trites was able to strike early, giving OHA a 2-1 lead that they would hold on to till the buzzer sounded. Maddox Slater (21/22) would pick up the win between the pipes with a tidy 21-saves.

Delta Hockey Academy Black (15) vs St. George’s School (1) U15

Delta Hockey Academy Black have seen their record falter of late. Eight straight wins between the beginning of January and beginning of February is now well in the rear-view mirror, with DHAB winning two and losing three of their last five. With only three games left on the regular season schedule, Saturday against St. George’s School was their first game since the overtime loss to Okanagan Hockey Academy last Sunday. Stefano Trentalance (2G, 3A) scored two goals early to send Delta on their way, and as far as close competition goes, that would mark the end of the contest. Delta grabbed hat-tricks from Bentley Gillis (3G, 4A) and Bryce Bose (3G, 1A) as well as five points from Zach Giles (2G, 3A) in a game that saw them score 15 goals.

Notre Dame Hounds (1) vs St. George’s School (4) U18 Prep

St. George’s School’s U18 Prep squad bested Yale Hockey Academy on February 15, an impressive 5-4 victory, but haven’t managed to pick up a second win on the month as of yet. They pushed OHA Edmonton to the brink on Friday, performing admirably despite a 2-1 loss, and looked ahead to Saturday and Sunday’s games to turn their positive recent performances into results. One of St. George’s big guns did the damage on Saturday, with Louis Oscar Holowaychuk leading the way for SGS, scoring a first-period powerplay goal, before adding two more in the third period. Noah Fowler provided three primary assists for Holowaychuk’s hat-trick and St. George’s victory.

Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy’s U15 squad have had an impeccable month of February thus far, riding a five-game winning streak that most recently saw them score 14 goals in a win last weekend over Notre Dame. CDA have back-to-back games against STAR Hockey Academy Saturday and Sunday in search of extending their winning streak, starting with Saturday, the fourth head-to-head meeting between these two teams. Generally, the less of a contest the game is, there’s less to say about how it played out. TJ Podollan passed the 100-point mark with five goals and 10 points today, with Reed Witham (3G, 6A) and Jagger Clark (5G, 3A) joining Podollan’s highly productive performance in what ended as a whopping 17-4 Coeur d’Alene victory.

BWC Academy (5) vs OHA Edmonton (6/OT) U15 Prep

BWC Academy was able to generate an early lead thanks to goals from Logan Chang and Kristian Lima (2G, 1A). Artello Forestal (1G, 1A) would look to put a wrench in that advantage, scoring on a penalty shot to tie things up at 2-2. However, Lima and Kenzo Gibson (2G, 2A) would restore BWC Academy’s lead ahead of the second intermission. In the third, BWC Academy would find themselves in penalty trouble, making four infractions in the frame. On three of those powerplay opportunities, OHA Edmonton would find the back of the net, including the late game tying goal by Braydon Lynam. OHA Edmonton looked to have completed the comeback, but Matthew Steele would tie things up with 51-seconds left to play. Unfazed, OHA Edmonton would get back to it, as Kaysun Brunham (2G) would strike with 17-seconds left to spare, stealing that extra point away from Shawnigan.

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (3) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (5) U17

After PCHA potted two in the opening 90-seconds of play, RHA Kelowna would squeeze their way back into contention, scoring a quick pair of their own to bring this one back to even. Late in the first, Blake Bidney would net his 13th of the season to restore the Sea Devil’s advantage. In the second, Jordan Anastasiadis would round things up once more for RINK. However, RHA Kelowna could never find that goal to take the outright lead. Nixon Szadkowski (2G) would score not long after Anastasiadis’ powerplay marker and it would stand as the GWG. Trent Porter would add some extra insurance in the third while Leon Auburger (34/34) came up clutch in relief for Oliver Boniface (15/18), stopping all 34-shots he faced for a ‘makeshift’ shutout.

North Shore Warriors (0) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (5) U15

After taking a late penalty in the second, Kye Taggart was able to bring Edge back to within one on the powerplay. Late in the third, more penalty trouble would get RHA Kelowna into trouble. This time Rylan Saunders (1G, 1A) would strike for Edge, tying this one and forcing overtime. However, RHA Kelowna would make their way out with the W as Alexander Sharman was able to pot the OT Winner. Matthew Palmer (37/40) posted an incredible 37-saves in the victory.

Five separate skaters would collect the rest of the goals for BWC Academy while Nolan Costa (25/25) shut down all 25-shots for the shutout.
