Eight former or current Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) student-athletes have won gold in their respective age brackets with Team Canada Ball Hockey at the 2024 ISBHF World Championships.
The event, which took place in Slovakia July 4-7, saw Team Canada defeat Team USA 5-1 at the U18 level, while OHA Edmonton student-athlete Radoslav Dimitrov scored the OT winner as Team Canada defeated Team Slovakia 6-5 at the U16 level.
The following former or current CSSHL student-athletes represented Team Canada at the U18 level:
- Jack Barrington – Bourget College
- Kainoah Brankovic – Yale Hockey Academy
- Brandon Osborne – North Shore Warriors
- James Zazula – BWC Academy
After producing two assists in six games, Osborne was named to the tournament All-Star Team.
The following former or current CSSHL student-athletes represented Team Canada at the U16 level:
- Radoslav Dimitrov – OHA Edmonton
- Eric Ripka – Northern Alberta Xtreme
- Nolan Stewart – Northern Alberta Xtreme
- Madden Tymchak – RHA Winnipeg
Stewart led Team Canada, finishing fourth in tournament scoring with 11 points in 6 games as he was named ‘Best Forward.’ With six assists and the OT winner in the gold medal game, Dimitrov was named tournament ‘MVP’.
