Tigers Add Calhoon, St. Martin and Zahara

The Medicine Hat Tigers have signed Brett Calhoon, Hunter St. Martin and Zach Zahara to Western Hockey League (WHL) Standard Player Agreements.

Calhoon was originally selected by the Tigers in the ninth round, 193rd overall in the 2020 WHL Bantam Draft. The Oliver, BC forward has spent the past two seasons in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) with Okanagan Hockey Academy. In 39 games at the U15 Prep and U17 Prep divisions, Calhoon has 9 goals and 21 assists.

A sixth-round pick, 124th overall in the 2020 WHL Bantam Draft, St. Martin has played for him hometown OHA Edmonton the last three seasons. The forward spent two years with their U15 Prep team, tallying 35 points in 52 games, before finishing as a point per game player during the 2020/21 U16 Prep season.

Zahara joins the South Alberta Hockey Academy U18 Prep team for the 2021/22 season. The Rocky View, AB netminder was selected in the eighth round, 171st overall by the Tigers in the 2020 WHL Bantam Draft.
