The Seattle Thunderbirds have signed Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX) netminder Spencer Michnik to a Western Hockey League (WHL) Standard Player Agreement.
Michnik joined NAX for the 2020/21 Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) U15 Prep season, playing two games and posting a 1.50 Goals Against Average (GAA) and .953 Save Percentage (SV%). The Sylvan Lake, AB netminder would follow that up by leading the U16 Prep division with a 1.58 GAA while capturing the CSSHL U16 Prep Top Goaltender Award and CSSHL League Championship.
The Thunderbirds selected Michnik in the fifth round, 96th overall at the 2021 WHL Draft.
