Thunder Add Two CSSHL Alumni

The Alberta Junior Hockey League’s (AJHL) Drayton Valley Thunder have added two Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) alumni to their roster for the 2021/22 season.

Netminder Jari Kykkanen played just three games for the Yale Hockey Academy U18 Prep team during the 2020/21 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Selected in the sixth round, 115th overall by the Kelowna Rockets in the 2019 Western Hockey League (WHL) Bantam Draft, the Lloydminster, AB native posted a 0.842 save percentage and 2.92 goals against average this past season.

A 12th round selection in the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft by the Prince Albert Raiders, Jack Silverberg spent three seasons with OHA Edmonton. He joined the program in 2018/19 tallying 26 points in 28 games for their U15 Prep team. He would captain their U16 Prep team in 2019/20, finishing with 21 points in 27 games. The forward would finish the 2020/21 campaign as a point per game player, finishing with five points in five games.
