Surrey Eagles Add Four

The Surrey Eagles have added four Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) student-athletes for the 2022/23 British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) season.

A fourth-round pick, 71st overall by the Seattle Thunderbirds at the 2021 Western Hockey League (WHL) Draft, Rylan Bonkowski spent three seasons in the CSSHL. The Richmond, BC defenseman joined Delta Hockey Academy for the 2019/20 U15 season, recording 25 points in 30 games. He would suit up for the BWC Academy U15 Prep team the following season, tallying six assists in six games. This past season Bonkowski finished with 11 points in 20 regular season games, plus 1 assist in 5 playoff games as he helped BWC Academy capture a CSSHL U18 Prep League Championship. Bonkowski played 1 BCHL game as an affiliate player for the Eagles during the 2021/22 campaign.

A forward from Surrey, BC, Savek Brar spent the 2021/22 U18 Prep season with Delta Hockey Academy. Brar would play 13 regular season games with Delta, and 3 more in the playoffs where he would tally 1 assist.

Another BWC Academy product, Ryden Evers has been with BWC Academy since the 2018/19 U15 season where he tallied 32 points in 30 games. The Burnaby, BC forward would finish the 2019/20 U15 Prep season with 30 points in 27 games.  He would finish second among BWC Academy U16 Prep skaters with nine points in five games during the 2020/21 campaign. In 2021/22 Evers would score 13 goals and 23 assists in 24 regular season games, before adding 4 points in 5 playoff games, helping BWC Academy capture a CSSHL U18 Prep League Championship.  Evers would also play one BCHL game as an affiliate player with the Vernon Vipers.

Alexander Sandhu would lead the Delta U18 Prep team in goals (23) and points (48) during the 2021/22 CSSHL season.  In 2020/21 the Delta, BC forward would score one goal and one assist in four U16 Prep games.  Sandhu spent the previous two seasons with the BWC Academy U15 Prep team, tallying 35 points in 56 games.
