St. Francis Xavier University has added a pair of Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) student-athletes as Lainey Joyce and Tea Pearce have committed there for the 2023/24 season.
A defenseman from Vancouver, BC, Joyce has spent the last five seasons in the CSSHL with Delta Hockey Academy. Joyce spent her first three years with the Delta Female U17 team, recording 13 points in 55 games. She would join the Delta Female U18 team in 2021/22, accumulating 10 points in 56 games over the last two seasons.
Pearce joined the South Alberta Hockey Academy Female U18 team in 2021/22, finishing with 24 points in 27 games. The Calgary, AB forward would return to the team in 2022/23, finishing with a team high 15 goals and 24 points in 23 games played.
Located in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, St. FX is a U SPORTS program competing in the Atlantic University Sport (AUS) Conference.
