Shawnigan grad Irwin commits to Denver

Canadian Sport School Hockey League graduate Reid Irwin has committed to attend and play NCAA hockey at the University of Denver.

Irwin, 20, attended Shawnigan Lake School for three seasons from 2014 to 2017, spending his final two seasons on their Midget Prep team, where he netted 45 points (12-33-45) in 56 career Midget Prep Division games, along with 10 points (3-7-10) in seven post-season contests.

During the 2014-15 season, the Victoria, B.C. product registered 22 points (6-16-22) in 22 games with the Shawnigan Lake School Midget Varsity team, helping his team capture the 2015 CSSHL Midget Varsity Division Championship.

Irwin has spent the past two seasons in the Alberta Junior Hockey League with the Lloydminster Bobcats and Sherwood Park Crusaders. In 119 career AJHL games, he has accumulated 49 points (9-40-49).
