Former Edge School student-athlete Parker Sawka has committed to Maryville University for the 2023/24 season.
Sawka played in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) for four seasons with Edge School. He would spend the 2015/16 and 2016/17 seasons with their U15 Prep team, playing in 29 games.
In 2017/18 the Cochrane, AB netminder would play 21 U16 Prep games, posting a 17-2-1 record with a 2.31 GAA, .909 SV% and 1 shutout. The following season he would play 19 games recording 4 shutouts, a 15-3-1 record, and a league best1.51 GAA and .939 SV% while being named CSSHL U18 Prep Top Goaltender.
Sawka would join the Okotoks Oilers for the 2019/20 Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) season playing in 5 games while recording a 4-0-0 record, 1.99 GAA and .912 SV%. Overall, he would spend four seasons with the team, finishing with a 39-29-1 record, 2.93 GAA, .887 SV% and 4 shutouts.
Located in Town and Country, Missouri, Maryville University is an ACHA Division I program.
