Royals Sign Greschuk, McKamey

The Victoria Royals have signed former CSSHL student-athletes Roan Greschuk and Eli McKamey to WHL Scholarship and Development Agreements.

A defensemen from St. Albert, AB, Greschuk spent the 2023/24 U15 CSSHL season with the Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX). In 21 games he tallied 3 goals and 11 assists for 14 points. He would add four point in five playoff games as NAX captured their second straight CSSHL U15 Western Championship.

The Royals selected Greschuk in the first round, 19th overall at the 2025 WHL Draft.

McKamey joined Shawnigan Lake School as a double-underage player for the 2021/22 U15 Prep season. That year he would record 33 points in 28 games. The following U15 Prep season he would lead his team and finish eighth in the division with 58 points in 24 games.

The Cowichan Valley, BC forward would graduate to the U18 Prep division as an underage player the following season. Despite being the second youngest player in the division (behind Landon DuPont/Edge School), McKamey would finish third on his team with 48 points, including tying for the team lead with 23 goals in 28 games.

At the conclusion of the season, the Royals would select McKamey in the second round, 35th overall at the 2024 WHL Draft.
