Rebels Sign Smith

The Red Deer Rebels have signed Yale Hockey Academy forward Evan Smith to a Western Hockey League (WHL) Standard Player Agreement (SPA).

The Rebels took the Kamloops, BC forward in the fifth round, 95th overall in the 2021 WHL Draft. Smith has spent the last two seasons in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) with Yale.

Smith joined the CSSHL in 2020/21 with the Yale U15 Prep team, scoring three goals and three assists in five games. He would split the 2021/22 season with the Yale U17 Prep and U18 Prep teams, finishing with 17 points in 14 U17 Prep games, and 5 points in 10 U18 Prep games.
