A pair of Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) alumni have committed to NCAA Division I program University of Nebraska-Omaha.
Myles Hilman spent the 2018/19 season with the Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX) U16 Prep team, leading NAX to a CSSHL U16 League Championship. In 36 regular season games Hilman would tally 25 goals and 33 assists for 58 points, second best in the U16 Prep division.
A ninth-round pick, 185th overall by the Prince Albert Raiders in the 2018 Western Hockey League (WHL) Draft, Hilman made the jump to the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) with the Drumheller Dragons in 2019/20, finishing with 28 points in 47 games. The Sylvan Lake, AB forward would be named team captain, at just 16 years old, heading into the 2020/21 season where he would finish with 7 points in just 10 games. This year Hilman has 42 points in 41games, including a team high 22 goals.
A forward from White Rock, BC, Jacob Slipec spent four seasons in the CSSHL. He joined the league in 2014/15 with the Delta Hockey Academy U15 team. He would finish with 14 points in 16 games as Delta won a CSSHL U15 League Championship. Slipec would return to the Delta U15 team the following season, once again winning a CSSHL U15 League Championship while tallying 9 points in 11 games.
Slipec would join West Van Academy for the 2016/17 and 2017/18 seasons, recording 16 points in 25 U16 Prep games, followed by 25 points in 32 U18 Prep games.
He would graduate to the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL), spending the 2018/19 season with the Chilliwack Chiefs. He would begin the following season with the Chiefs, before joining the Powell River Kings where he would record 24 points in 45 games. In 2020/21 he would move on to the Surrey Eagles, finishing with 14 points in 17 games. This year Slipec has 30 points in 34 BCHL games with the Eagles.
