Okanagan Hockey Ontario announces Corey Beer as Head Coach of U18 Prep team

 

Okanagan Hockey Ontario (OHO) General Manager, Paul Pascuzzi, announced today that Corey Beer has been named Head Coach of OHO Eastern U18 Prep team.

“We are excited to add Corey to our coaching staff,” said Pascuzzi. “Corey not only grew up in the Durham Region, but brings over 10 years of experience developing prospects at the Jr. A level. His 10 years of work in the NOJHL and OJHL will provide our student-athletes with valuable insight on what it takes to be successful at the next level of their career. Through his leadership, we look forward to him mentoring our student-athletes to reach their maximum potential.”

Beer will join OHO after spending the last four seasons as the Head Coach of the Timmins Rock in the NOJHL. Prior to his time in Timmins, Beer spent six years as the Assistant Coach in the OJHL, with the Whitby Fury and then Cobourg Cougars, winning the RBC Cup with Cobourg in 2017 (National Junior A Championship).

Under his style of game, Beer has progressed numerous players onto the NCAA, USports, and to Major Junior.

In addition to his Head Coaching role, Beer has made strides on the international stage as part of the World Junior A Challenge. First named a guest coach in 2017 for Team Canada East., he has been an Assistant Coach for the team since 2018, winning a silver medal in 2019.
