The Fort McMurray Oil Barons have added former Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) teammates Brett Boucher and Nolan Kazeil.
Boucher and Kazeil were teammates during the 2018/19 CSSHL U15 Prep season with the Northern Alberta Xtreme.
Boucher would play for the Pursuit of Excellence (POE) U15 team, in 2017/18, recording 34 points in 28 games. After his lone season at NAX the Fort McMurray, AB forward would join the OHA Edmonton U16 Prep team, recording 5 goals and 16 assists in 35 games.
Kazeil originally joined NAX in 2017/18, playing 59 U15 Prep games and tallying 11 assists over two seasons. He would suit up at the U16 Prep level the next year, scoring once and adding 9 assists in 34 games. The Edmonton, AB defenseman would spend the last two CSSHL seasons with the NAX U18 Prep team, tallying 5 goals and 25 assists in 42 games. Kazeil would also play in three Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) games with the Sherwood Park Crusaders as an affiliate player during the 2021/22 campaign.
