Former West Van Academy student-athlete Fraser Minten has signed an NHL Entry Level Contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs after they selected him in the second round, 38th overall at the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.
Minten spent three seasons in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) with West Van, joining the program in 2017/18 for the U15 season. In 26 games he would record 38 points. The following season he would lead all CSSHL U15 Prep skaters with 50 assists, while finishing second in team scoring with 65 points in 29 games. Following the 2018/19 season the Kamloops Blazers would select the Vancouver, BC forward in the fourth round of the 2019 Western Hockey League (WHL) Draft. Minten would return to West Van for the 2019/20 U18 Prep season, tallying 61 points in 34 games.
In 2020/21 Minten would join the Blazers, tallying 18 points in 20 games. During the 2021/22 WHL season Minten would score 20 goals and 35 assists to finish fifth in team scoring.
