May named General Manager of Okanagan Hockey Academy

Okanagan Hockey Group (OHG) Vice-President Dixon Ward today announced that Scott May has been named the General Manager of the Okanagan Hockey Academy’s (OHA) Penticton location.

“We would like to thank Ian Gallagher and the Delta Hockey Academy for their cooperation in making this a smooth transition,” said Ward. “We are happy to have Scott join us as the General Manager of our Academy operations in Penticton. He has a strong background in the game as not only a player and coach, but on the business and hockey operations side of things as well. We are aligned on how we want the Academy to run and I am excited to see him lead our program.”

May joins OHA from the Delta Hockey Academy, where he has been since 2013 as the Director of Hockey Operations and previously the Director of Business Operations, as well as the Head Coach of their Female Prep team during the 2018-19 season and their Midget Prep team from 2013-2018.

Prior to his time at Delta, May played eight seasons of professional hockey in the AHL, ECHL and Europe. He was selected in the seventh round, 222nd overall, by the Toronto Maple Leafs at the 2002 NHL Draft.

The White Rock, B.C. product played four seasons of NCAA hockey at the Ohio State University, where he graduated with a degree in Business Operations Management.

The Okanagan Hockey Group welcome’s Scott, his wife, Megan, and two daughters to Penticton.
