The University of Calgary Dinos women’s hockey team has hired Edge School’s Carla MacLeod as their head coach for the 2021/22 season.
MacLeod spent seven seasons coaching at Edge School, including the last four as Female U18 Prep Head coach, leading the team to a Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) Championship in 2019/20.
Prior to her coaching career at the Edge School, MacLeod helped Team Japan qualify for the 2014 Winter Olympics, the first time since they hosted in 1998.
Before starting her coaching career, MacLeod played her minor hockey in Calgary, AB. She would make the jump to the NCAA playing for the Wisconsin Badgers, captaining the team for two seasons.
Internationally, MacLeod represented Canada numerous times including winning gold once and silver three times at the IIHF World Women’s Championships, and capturing two Olympic Gold Medals.
The Dinos compete in the U SPORTS Canada West Conference.
