OHA Edmonton U18 Prep head coach Serge Lajoie has been named Team Alberta head coach of the 2021 U16 Male team. Edge U18 Prep head coach James Poole will join the Team Alberta staff as video coach.
Lajoie is currently in his second season as OHA Edmonton U18 Prep coach and owns a record of 24-14-1-2. He has previously coached in the Western Hockey League, USports, and Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference.
Now in his fourth season as Edge U18 Prep head coach, Poole has spent time as a head coach and general manager in the Alberta Junior Hockey League with the Okotoks Oilers and Calgary Canucks.
Team Alberta will hold summer and fall camps in August and September in Red Deer to select the U16 Male team that will represent the province at the 2021 WHL Cup slated for later this fall.
