The Lethbridge Hurricanes have signed 2020 Western Hockey League (WHL) Draft pick Brady Smith to a WHL Standard Player Agreement.
Smith was originally selected by the Hurricanes in the sixth round, 123rd overall in the 2020 WHL Draft. The Cloverdale, BC netminder is currently in his fourth Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) season with Yale Hockey Academy.
He joined the CSSHL in 2018/19, playing in 15 U15 games and recording a 11-3 record with 2 shutouts and a 2.34 Goals Against Average (GAA) and .913 Save Percentage (SV%). The following season he would win the CSSHL U15 Prep division Top Goaltender Award, posting a 13-2 record with 4 shutouts, 1.55 GAA and .925 SV% in 17 games.
Smith would spend the 2020/21 shortened season with the Yale U17 Prep team, and currently plays for the Yale U18 Prep team where he has a 9-2-1 record, 1 shutout, 2.51 GAA and .911 SV% in 13 games.
