Hofer Signs NHL Contract with Capitals

Former Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) student-athlete Ryan Hofer has signed his NHL Entry Level Contract with the Washington Capitals.

Hofer spent three seasons in the CSSHL with the Pursuit of Excellence (POE), presently known as RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna. In 100 CSSHL games split between the U17 and U18 Prep divisions Hofer would record 66 goals and 51 assists for a total of 117 points.

The Winnipeg, MB forward would split the 2020-21 season between the Manitoba Junior Hockey League’s (MJHL) Portage Terriers and the Western Hockey Leagues (WHL) Everett Silvertips. He would join the Silvertips full time in 2021/22, tallying 58 points in 67 games. At the conclusion of the season the Capitals would select Hofer in the sixth round, 181st overall at the 2022 NHL Draft.

Hofer began the 2022/23 season in Everett where he would score 23 times and add 13 assists in 36 games. Midway through the season he would be traded to the Memorial Cup host Kamloops Blazers where he currently has 26 points in 19 WHL games.
