Hodnett Signs with Oil Kings, Makes WHL Debut

Gavin Hodnett made his Western Hockey League (WHL) debut with the Edmonton Oil Kings on December 18, 2021, after signing a WHL Standard Player Agreement (SPA) earlier in the day.

Selected in the first round, 19th overall in the 2021 WHL Draft, Hodnett is in his third season in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) with his hometown RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg. The forward spent the previous two seasons in the U15 Prep division, recording 15 goals and 32 assists in 32 games. In 22 U18 Prep games this season, Hodnett has 11 goals and 20 assists for a team best 31 points.

Hodnett recorded an assist in his WHL debut against the Swift Current Broncos.
