Former CSSHL student-athletes Otto Hanson and Brogan McNeil have signed in the Canadian Hockey League (CHL).
A forward from Calgary, AB, Hanson spent two season in the CSSHL with Edge School. He would join the program in 2020/21, recording six points in six U15 Prep games. The following U18 Prep season he would finish with 5 goals and 12 assists in 34 regular season games, before adding 2 points in 4 playoff games.
Hanson has signed with the Swift Current Broncos after they originally selected him in the second round, 45th overall at the 2021 WHL Draft. Hanson has played three games with the Broncos so far this season.
McNeil has signed with the Shawinigan Cataractes of the QMJHL after going undrafted to the league. The Delta, BC forward spent four seasons in the CSSHL with Delta Hockey Academy. He would begin with the program in 2019/20, tallying 14 points in 29 U15 games. He would spend the following season with the Delta Black U15 Prep team before joining their U17 Prep team in 2021/22, recording 31 points in 35 games. His last season in the CSSHL was in 2022/23 when he finished third in team scoring with 27 points in 32 U18 Prep games.
