GAME DAY RECAP: September 24, 2023

Delta Hockey Academy Green (7) vs Delta Hockey Academy Black Female (1) U18 Prep

DHA Green started their season off on the right foot and earned themselves a victory over their DHA counterparts. Breigh Rank (2G) and Saya Earl (2G) led the way with two apiece while Ellie Chou (1G, 2A) and Sadie Isfeld (1G, 2A) provided extra support. Kira Bui (1G) scored the lone goal for DHA Black in the final period.

Delta Hockey Academy (11) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (2) U15

Delta came out the gates swinging for an onslaught of offence. Evan Wong (3G, 1A) got the ball rolling with a lone goal in the first frame while Shay Van Slyke (36/45) kept PCHA alive making 14-saves in the period. Delta would finish the game off with nine unique goal scorrs and eight multi-point efforts as they cruised to victory to close off their weekend on Vancouver Island.

Yale Hockey Academy (9) vs CDA (5) U17 Prep

Today’s marquee matchup displayed an offensive flurry in a rematch between Yale and Coeur d’Alene, matching last night’s score within the first period of play. Yale would take off at the start of the second and build off of their existing lead while Bodie Jerome (4G) topped off his hat-trick. CDA sparked a comeback attempt early in the final frame with a tally from Tanner Livingston (1G, 1A), but Yale would continue their offensive push scoring another three goals to close out the sweep in Idaho.

Wenatchee Wild (1) vs RHA Kelowna Black (9) U17 Prep

Dylan Cawley (2G, 1A) ignited RHA Kelowna Black’s morning in Vernon and they did not look back. Benjamin Bowtell (1G, 3A) and Kiran Fedun (3A) would lead the way in terms of points while RINK Kelowna Black cruised to victory over Wenatchee.

St. George’s School (1) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy Blue (5) U17 Prep

PCHA Blue takes a statement win in a back-and-forth affair with St. George’s. Led by Madden Cruikshank (2G) and backed by Ashton Fummerton (32/33), PCHA was able to comfortably hold on to a two goal lead entering the third. Cruikshank and Jack MacMillan (1G) would seal the deal in the final frame to ensure PCHA’s second win of the season.

North Shore Warriors (4) vs Shawnigan Lake School (5) U17 Prep

In a tension filled event, Shawnigan Lake School manages to edge out a victory over the North Shore Warriors with a clinical goal from Ronan Murphy (1G, 1A) with 6:38 remaining in the third period. Another key moment occurred in the second period, where Will Stonehouse (0/0) shut down Avraham Brown (1A) on a penalty shot.

St. George’s School (10) vs Delta Hockey Academy Black (0) U15 Prep

St. George’s came out with a textbook offensive display with many notable performances stemming from it. Jacob Schwartz (3G) was able to complete a hat-trick just over halfway through the match, while defenceman Louis Oscar Holowaychuk (1G, 3A) produced four points from the blueline. Brock Cripps (2G, 1A) also found the back of the net twice, while Cash Christie (10/10) picked up the shutout. Delta Black’s Jack Utsonomiya (54/64) put in a tremendous effort after being called up from DHA’s U15 team in relief for this morning’s game.

Prairie Hockey Academy Blue (1) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme White (7) U17 Prep

Jackson Roberts (3G) and Brady Whitehead (1G, 1A) would score 35 seconds apart less than 4 minutes into the game as NAX would skate out to a 6-0 lead. Riedar Armstrong would beat Ty Swanson (19/20) late in the second to ruin the NAX netminders shutout bid. Tristen Bailey (1G, 2A) had three points in the win. 

Wenatchee Wild (2) vs RHA Kelowna (9) U18 Prep

Brody Gillespie (3G, 2A) and Joe Iginla (1G, 4A) paced the RHA Kelowna offence with five points each as Wenatchee was defeated 9-2. Defenseman Keaton Verhoeff (3A) had three assists while Kelsen Podworny (2G) and Cage Smith (2G, 1A) each scored twice. Gabe Eckdahl and Connor Ellingsen scored for Wenatchee in the loss. 

Edge School Gold (2) vs Calgary International Hockey Academy (6) U17 Prep

Clayton Candy and Dallin Antos gave Edge a 2-1 lead after 20 but CIHA would respond with five unanswered goals including three in the third period to secure a 6-2 victory. Cole Prelusky (26/28) earned his third win in as many games while Oliver Kramp (2G, 1A) and Noah Milford (1G, 2A) led the CIHA offence with three points. 

North Shore Warriors Orange (3) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (7) U17 Prep

The third period started tied 3-3 but PCHA would score four unanswered as Addison Urquhart (2G), James Powell (2G, 1A) and Brayden Howe (1G, 2A) all found the back of the net. Parker Parrish (32/35) would make 32 stops in net for the win while Kellen Ceraldi (45/51) was in net for the loss. Porter Williamson (3A) had a three point effort for PCHA. 

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (4) vs Yale Hockey Academy (7) U15 Prep

Yale outshot PCHA 48-18 en route to a 7-4 victory Sunday afternoon. Gavin Bradley (3G) recorded a hattrick while teammates Matteo Di Stefano (3A), Jacob Dumansky (1G, 2A) and Gavin Selinger (1G, 2A) recorded three point games of their own. Phoenix Moyer-Isram (1G, 2A) led the PCHA offence with three points. e
