GAME DAY RECAP: October 5, 2025

Mount Academy (2) vs Okanagan Hockey Ontario (5) East U17 Prep

Hector Hupel kicked off the scoring for OHO, wiring one from above the left circle to give his team the early lead. Soon after, Ian Rowsell (1G, 1A) would add another to OHO’s tally, giving them a two goal advantage into the second. Luca Nobert (2G) and Thomas Garland would score in quick succession to extend OHO’s lead even further, capping off a chain of four unanswered goals. Mitchell Goodine (1G, 1A) would get Mount on the board with a late goal in the second. Braiden Rossiter would dance on in before firing one shortside to get Mount to within two, but that was all that was getting by Lohan Goolab (29/31) in this affair. Nobert would seal it with an empty netter to finish off a two goal performance.

Fort Erie International Academy (5) vs Mount Academy (1) East U18 Prep

Colton Wilkie (3G) made his presence known in this early morning matchup, recording a hat-trick with an even strength, powerplay and shorthanded goal. Alongside Wilkie, George Tagirov (1G, 1A) and Baron  Tanton (2A) would each secure two points as well while goaltender Demity Gikas (14/15) was only beaten once as he had his shutout spoiled by a late goal from Christian Belliveau.

Kuper Academy (15) vs Fort Erie International Academy (2) East U17 Prep

Kuper Academy did not hold back against Fort Erie early Sunday morning, recording 15-goals to cap off their showcase in Cornwall, ON. Thomas Issa (4G, 1A) led the charge with a four goal outing while Alexander Beck (3G) and Angelo Colletti Jr (3G, 1A) also secured hat-tricks. Alessio Servello (4A) and Gianfranco Capparelli (1G, 4A) would provide four helpers each in the beatdown. However, Fort Erie’s Elisei Melikian would score a ‘Michigan’ style goal in the second, securing his spot in the highlight reels for the rest of the season.

CIH Academy (7) vs Okanagan Hockey Ontario (3) East U18 Prep

The two Slovaks were putting in the work for CIH Academy this morning as Tobias Lednicky (2G, 2A) and Kristian Kachnic (2G) combined for four goals on the scoresheet. Oliver Matthewman (1G, 4A) would also put in the work on the blueline, popping off for five points in CIH Academy’s 7-3 victory. Jacob Kirstein (34/37) would stand tall in goal, making 34-saves, keeping CIH Academy’s large lead intact through sixty minutes of play.

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (0) vs Shawnigan Lake School (10) Female U18 Prep

Zoe Cramer (1G, 5A) continues her hot start to the season, acquiring another six points in a morning tilt with Pilot Mound. Cramer’s lone goal would come shorthanded in the second period, already her second SHG of the season. Grace Cooper (2G, 1A) and Taylor Simpson (2G) would also supply two goal outings while Jordyn Kemp (19/19) kept things tidy in net, steering 19-shots aside for a shutout in her first career CSSHL start.

Edge School (2) vs North Shore Warriors (1) Female U18 Prep

North Shore’s powerplay continued to thrive as Castilla Rubin deflected home her second of the season to hand the Warriors the early lead. However, Edge would find success on their man advantage soon after as sharpshooter Avaya McCann wired home her second goal of the weekend to tie this up at 1-1. Just over three minutes later, Cassia Severin would give Edge School the lead with an even strength marker. Edge would hold on to this lead but not without Alexis Ehrman (30/31) putting on a clinic. Ehrman would stone the Warriors on a 2-on-0 in the second, keeping their lead intact. Ehrman would collect 30-saves throughout the rest of this contest, helping Edge close their weekend with a big win on the Island.

Delta Hockey Academy (5) vs Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (2) U17

Got your stopwatch handy?.. because it only took Victor Lee (1G, 1A) 15-seconds to put Delta on the scoresheet off a rebound in tight. Daniel Kos would quickly tie things back up for CDA on the powerplay but Delta would come firing back with a powerplay marker of their own, this one coming off the stick of Adam Piliotis. However, CDA’s powerplay would remain hot, scoring once again before the end of the first to keep this one knotted up at 2-2 thanks to Mitch Wells. The scoring would take a brief hiatus in the second but would come back thriving in the third for Delta as Sam Hioe and Jack Triance would score a pair of snipes only 61-seconds apart. Peyton May would add some further insurance late in the third, roofing one shortside just past the ear of Gunner Podollan (49/54). Cole Chura (19/21) would register the win in goal for Delta.

Edge School (6) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (3) U17

A pair of powerplay goals from Edge School’s Levi Carter and Prairie’s Ivey Vermeulen (1G, 1A) kept this one tied through twenty. Jake Myhre would open the scoring 50-seconds into the second but the score kept bouncing back-and-forth through the middle frame with Devin Kian Shape tying it back up for Edge late in the period. Edge would run away with this one in the third after Jayden Maschke wired home his first of the season off a toe-drag release. Kyden Bartole would add some insurance while Curtis Troeger (2G) potted the empty netter.

Balmoral Hall School (9) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy Black (1) Female U18 Prep

Balmoral Hall polished off their trip to Vancouver Island in style, netting 9-goals against OHA Black. Matylda Stepien (2G, 2A) would cap off her weekend with a four point effort, including back-to-back goals only 25-seconds apart. Balmoral would open the second period with a chain of four goals in only 2:35. Reika Iwami (1G, 1A) would put a bow on this weekend with her patented move on the penalty shot, ending their time on the Island in Datsyuk-fashion. Raiya Mellus would score the lone goal for OHA Black.

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (6) vs South Alberta Hockey Academy (0) U15 Prep

After a scoreless first, 2012-born defender Ryder MacLean (2G) would bury his second of the season fresh out of the penalty box. Wyatt Sydenham would later bury RHA Winnipeg’s sixth shorthanded goal of the year, giving RINK a 2-0 lead through forty. The flood gates would open in the third for RHA Winnipeg as they buried another four to put this contest out of reach for SAHA. MacLean would add his second of the match late in the frame, going post-and-in. Nicholas Buhay (14/14) recorded the shutout, making 14-saves in the win.

OHA Edmonton (8) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (7) U17

After yesterday’s 7-6 victory for OHA Edmonton, the last thing you’d expect is even more goals in their next meeting. Well, you’d be mistaken as we witnessed yet another barn burner between Edmonton’s rivals. OHA Edmonton had the upper hand through one, leading this match 4-1 with plenty thanks to OHA Edmonton defender Liam MacMillan (2G, 1A) who net two goals to close the frame. NAX would take their turn lighting up the scoresheet in the second as Jesse Barber (2G) lit the lamp just over a minute into play. Ethan Candlish (1G, 1A) would net NAX’s third goal of the frame, leaving them with a 5-4 deficit to make up in the third. Once again, Barber would open the frame along with Gabriel Esteves (2G) giving NAX their first lead soon after. Later in the frame, Aaron Jackson (2G) and Tucker Porter (1G, 3A) would strike back-to-back for OHA Edmonton, restoring their lead. In the final five minutes of play. Rhett Dahl would wire home the game tying goal for NAX, looking to force this one into overtime. However, a late snipe from Neylen Martin would once again restore OHA Edmonton’s lead, and they would hold on to this one. OHA Edmonton would take the three game series against NAX that started earlier this week with a 2-1-0-0 record, scoring 18-goals in those three games.

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (3) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (4/SO) U17 Prep

The Sea Devils were off to a dream start after Nathan Green and Foster Armstrong scored a pair of goals only 64-seconds into play. Aiden Andrews (2G) would later get one back for RHA Kelowna on the powerplay, continuing his strong weekend. A quiet second would follow where Jack Leslie would tie things late for RHA Kelowna, setting the stage for an interesting third. In the final frame, Owen Hyde would make a break up the middle before blasting one past Dylan Mingo (43/46) to take back the lead. With the goalie pulled, a point shot from Baden Glithero would find its way through traffic before being put home by Andrews with only 7-seconds left on the clock. Overtime would not solve this contest so a shootout was necessary. Andrews would open the shootout with a nifty move to his backhand while Alexander Sharman doubled their advantage with some tight dangles in close. Kaelen Rusjan would politely put one off the post and in giving Cameron Young-Thompson the chance to extend the shootout. However, Mingo would remain strong and stone the Portland Winterhawks prospect, completing the late comeback for RHA Kelowna.

Bishop’s College School (4) vs Lower Canada College (0) East U17 Prep

Bishop’s closed off their weekend showcase with a tidy 200ft performance against the electric LCC. Henry Collingwood (1G, 1A) would bury Bishop’s first goal halfway through the first while Samuel Boutet (1G, 1A) wired home their second before the ice clean. In the second, Thomas Roy (1G, 2A) would add a goal to his existing two assists, cramming home a loose puck in close to extend Bishop’s lead to 3-0. Dominik Bickos (1G, 3A) would do the same, adding a goal to cap off a four point effort to extinguish LCC. Dax Doiron (27/27) would collect the shutout in goal, picking up Bishop’s second shutout on the weekend. Bishop’s U17 Prep team would only allow one goal against all weekend.

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (0) vs Edge School (13) U15 Prep

Brody Antignani (2G, 3A) and Cruz Schwabe (3G, 1A) led the charge in a dominant performance over Pilot Mound, picking up five and four points respectively. James Butterwick (1G, 3A) would deflect home one of Edge’s goals, capping off a four point outing for the Calgary, AB native. Caden Stanley (22/22) recorded his fourth career CSSHL shutout in the process.

Shawnigan Lake School (8) vs Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (5) U18 Prep

Ben Staveley opened the game for Shawnigan in this high scoring affair with Wenatchee, blasting home a one-timer on an early man advantage. Charles McClinton would polish off a pretty rush play from Wenatchee to tie things later in the frame. However, Nolan Blankstein (2G, 2A) would restore Shawnigan’s lead later in the period. Kaiden Turta would open the scoring in the middle frame for Wenatchee but a chain of three unanswered goals from Shawngian would follow, two coming off the stick of Phoenix Hinks (2G) around the goalmouth. Wenatchee’s Benjamin Mikan (2G, 1A) would find the back of the net twice in the third for Wenatchee but Shawnigan kept pouring on offense themselves, including a beautiful goal from Blankstein to cap off a four point outing. Mason Lynnes (61/68) would make 61-saves in the losing effort, giving his team a chance in this high scoring matchup.

Ontario Hockey Academy Mavericks (0) vs Bishop’s College School (7) East U18 Prep

Bishop’s U17 Prep squad wasn’t the only team donning purple that put in a remarkable outing this weekend in each end of the ice. The U18 Prep team put on another masterclass over the Mavericks with seven separate goal scorers. Kayden Robitaille’s (1G, 1A) opener on a heads up feed from Luca Stasi (2A) would stand as the game winner in a 7-0 shutout. Maverik Legault (1G, 1A) and Henry Bassuk would also put away a pair of pretty goals. Tyler Fuicelli (13/13) would collect 13-saves in the victory while Ocean Li (57/64) stood on his head for 54-stops including one on a penalty shot.

Shawnigan Lake School (2) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (4) U17 Prep

Two wins in three games heading into Sunday for Shawnigan Lake had brought their U17 Prep two wins and a loss, with Okanagan only opening their season on Saturday, with their 5-2 victory over PCHA the lone precursor to Saturday’s battle with Shawnigan. Okanagan Hockey Academy scored two goals in two short intervals of time in the first two periods of the game today. Two OHA goals in the span of 14 first-period seconds to give his team the lead, and while Shawnigan got a goal back through Case Bartley, it was 28 seconds of second-period action that put the game to bed. Ultimately, Shawnigan got another goal back in the third period, but the efficient nature of OHA’s offence won out. Tyson Kuiack made 25 saves for the SLS win.

Okanagan Hockey Academy (4) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (5/OT) U17

Okanagan Hockey Academy’s opponent for the first weekend of October brought them the Pacific Coast Hockey Academy, with OHA having played two back-to-back sets against RHA Kelowna and Delta Hockey Academy in the last couple of weekends of September. PCHA was their opponent for both the Saturday and the Sunday games this weekend, with OHA triumphing over PCHA by a 5-3 scoreline on Saturday. PCHA’s loss on Friday at OHA’s hands marked their third in just four games this season, making Saturday the chance to get a result under their belt before playing back-to-back games against RINK Hockey Academy next weekend. The entirety of the two teams’ Saturday affair was back-and-forth throughout, with neither team ever attaining a two-goal lead throughout. OHA led 3-2 through two, largely on the back of Nathan Marques, whose two points for OHA continued what are now points in six straight games to start the year. Down a goal come the third, PCHA scored twice to give themselves a 4-3 lead with just over seven minutes to go. Kohlby Foster’s equalizing goal for OHA sent the game into overtime, and once it got to the five-minute extra-time frame, it took just over two minutes for the score to be settled. Blake Bidney scored to win it for PCHA on their second shot in overtime.

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (4) vs Delta Hockey Academy (9) U15 Prep

An overtime loss to Yale Hockey Academy in their first U15 Prep game of the season remains Delta Hockey Academy’s only one so far. Victories over PCHA and BWC followed that in preparation for Delta to start what will end up being eight games on home ice between now and the end of October. PCHA stood as their opponents against for the first weekend of October, expectations high coming into Sunday’s game, after Delta dismantled them 11-1 yesterday. PCHA hit the front early, but after trailing for less than three minutes, Delta Hockey Academy not only turned the game around, but very quickly wrestled their way into the lead. In less than eleven first-period minutes, Delta had scored five goals before the first intermission came around. PCHA’s second-period push was valiant, but for every time they struck DHA, Delta had its own response. In the end, big DHA performances from Ronan Gow (2G, 2A), Taegon Park (2G), and Eli Vickers (1G, 3A) helped Delta to a 9-4 victory.

Calgary International Hockey Academy (8) vs Notre Dame Hounds (1) U15

Calgary International Hockey Academy’s U15 squad won only one of their opening four games, coming into this weekend’s back-to-back against the Notre Dame Hounds. The first of the two-game series on Saturday for Notre Dame marked their third straight loss to start the season, having run into a red-hot NAX squad. Saturday saw CIHA prevail 6-1, and unfortunately for the Hounds, their fortunes wouldn’t improve come Sunday. Calgary International Hockey Academy gave Notre Dame nothing to build on in Sunday’s game, scoring more first-period goals than Notre Dame mustered shots. CIHA led Notre Dame 5-1 through one, and eventually, won 8-1, outshooting their opponents 49-19. CIHA defenceman Reid Grierison scored twice, with him and Hayden Blair (1G, 2A) making early offensive contributions that pushed Notre Dame out of contention within the first ten minutes. CIHA’s dominance further helped their special teams development, scoring twice for a 50% powerplay success rate, and remaining perfect on the PK, even scoring shorthanded to put an exclamation point on their second-straight dominant win.

STAR Hockey Academy (7) vs BWC Academy (2) U17 Prep

STAR Hockey Academy and BWC Academy both started their U17 Prep seasons against one another, not once, but twice; STAR triumphed over BWC on Saturday in both teams’ season opener. Yesterday, STAR led 3-2 over BWC through two periods. Tyler Gillespie had a big third period and scored one of the empty-net goals for STAR, helping them win 6-2, but the scoreline didn’t really tell the tale about how close the game indeed was. STAR’s victory over BWC on Sunday, however, was a victory in significantly more dominant fashion. STAR led 2-0 after one, 4-1 after two, and 6-1 just prior to the halfway point of the third period. BWC struggled in the game at five-on-five, scoring their two goals on a power play and a penalty shot. Hunter Hoggan (2G, 1A) and Adrian Afrakov (2G, 1A) followed up good Saturday performances for STAR with another three points apiece, with Griffin Fair making 33 saves for a 7-2 STAR victory.

Delta Hockey Academy (5) vs Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (2) U18 Prep

Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy’s U18 Prep contingent hosted Delta Hockey Academy twice for both teams to kick off their seasons this weekend; after Delta prevailed 3-1 on Saturday night, CDA hoped Saturday presented the chance to pick up their first win prior to the U18 showcase next weekend. CDA fought Delta hard in the first twenty minutes of play, not letting a Victor Lee (1G, 1A) goal 15 seconds in take them out of the game. CDA escaped the second period in a 2-2 tie with DHA, setting them up for a chance in the third period to win their first game of the season. Delta, however, were the team to seize and refuse to surrender the opportunity to prevail, doing so in dominant fashion. Delta outshot CDA 21-3 in the third period alone, with Sam Hioe, Jack Triance, and Peyton May all cashing in with third-period goals, helping Delta prevail 5-2, their second victory over CDA in as many days.

Calgary International Hockey Academy (2) vs OHA Edmonton (4) U18 Prep

A pair of hard-fought losses this weekend against South Alberta Hockey Academy predate OHA Edmonton’s date with the Calgary International Hockey Academy in U18 Prep action on Sunday, with CIHA having prevailed 6-1 over Edge School in their season opener Saturday. Through the first half of the hockey game, CIHA had an answer for OHAE at every turn, finding tying goals after trailing both 1-0 and 2-1. However, with less than seven minutes remaining in the second period, OHA Edmonton struck a blow that CIHA wouldn’t have a way back from. Chayse Fedoriuk, who scored 62 points in 35 U15 Prep games last season, scored his first in the U18 Prep division to give OHAE the lead. OHAE Goaltender Cam Hoose (36/38) stopped all 14 shots in the third period, helping OHAE protect their lead long enough to add an empty net goal and prevail 4-2.

South Alberta Hockey Academy vs Okanagan Hockey Academy Female U18 Prep

South Alberta Hockey Academy won a 1-0 shootout thriller against Balmoral Hall in their Female U18 Prep opener, but following that, they weren’t able to get a result out of their two following games to date. On the flip side, Okanagan Hockey Academy were still in search of their first win to date, with their two previous games of the U18 Prep showcase this weekend having ended in defeats to OHA Edmonton and RHA Winnipeg. Sunday marked a hard-fought, tightly-defended head-to-head against two teams in search of victory, and ultimately, it was fine margins that were required to determine the winner. Becca Macfarlene scored on the power play for OHA in the second period, and from there, Teagan Janzen in the OHA crease made every save she needed to make to cap off a 21-save shutout. Amy Polvere scored another power-play goal for OHA in the third to seal the deal, with Okanagan picking up their first win of the season.

Indigenous Sports Academy (4) vs South Alberta Hockey Academy (5) U17 Prep

South Alberta Hockey Academy’s U17 Prep squad still have to wait for their season to really kick off, with Sunday being their only game of the season prior to October 25. With that much time void of gameplay, they’d be sure to make their opener against Indigenous Sports Academy count. Neither of ISA’s first two games inspired confidence, having been bested by Edge School and CIHA by a combined 18-1 scoreline. Both teams swapped chances and threatened to take over in the first period, but for the most part, grade-A chances lay dormant in the first. Braxton White scored for ISA with just over five minutes to play in the first, a lead his team would take into the second, before the goals really started to roll. Both teams would do their damage in the second period in their own three-minute spurts; Lucas Fisher (1G, 1A), Liam Green, and Briggs Fabro (1G, 2A) scored in quick succession to give SAHA a 3-1 lead, but later in the period, ISA would get three goals in less than three minutes of their own, with Tyson Bird, Maximum Bigchild, and Lawson Gardipy (1G, 1A). ISA led by one through two, but one player took over for NAX in the third to make the telling difference in the game. Carter Gilchrist, who had picked up an assist in the second period, scored to tie things up early in the third, before the game would be decided by the two teams’ special teams. ISA had an opportunity to re-take the lead on a third-period power play, but rather, it was Gilchrist who struck again, scoring shorthanded to give SAHA a 5-4 lead – their first of the game, and the only one they needed, with goaltender Chase Nielson (37/41) stopping all ten shots he faced in the third period.

South Alberta Hockey Academy (1) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (7) U18 Prep

Northern Alberta Xtreme’s long-awaited season opener in the U18 Prep division saw SAHA in their way, a team that had played two tight-fought games this weekend already, beating OHA Edmonton twice. The game on Sunday remained scoreless for ten first-period minutes before NAX proved, as is often the case, that when it rains, it pours. In less than an eight-minute span, NAX scored four to open up a huge lead they’d never come close to letting slip. Easton Doran scored a hat-trick and Teagen Bouchard (2G, 2A) notched four points of his own, with the Northern Alberta Xtreme wasting no time at all in flexing their muscles in the U18 prep division, defeating SAHA by an emphatic 7-1 scoreline.

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna vs North Shore Warriors U17

The North Shore Warriors’ grim start to the U17 season didn’t improve following their 0-4 September, with RHA Kelowna coming in to Sunday having won a 7-6 thriller against BWC on Saturday. Their victory over North Shore wasn’t nearly as dramatic; it didn’t need to be. Four first-period goals for RHAK ended any semblance of a contest early, with Oliver Peck (2G), Otis Jacques (1G, 1A), and Tavin Reynen (1G, 1A) cashing in with early points to help push the game out of North Shore’s reach. Alex Youngson had a big lead in his favour throughout the game, but still remained rock-solid, making 25 saves on 25 shots for the victory.

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (2) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (5) U18 Prep

The pair of opponents for Pacific Coast Hockey Academy’s U18 Prep team on their opening weekend were always going to prove difficult; the first saw them produce an admirable offensive performance, scoring six against the Okanagan Hockey Academy, a performance rendered futile by the nine they conceded. RHA Kelowna opened up their U18 Prep season by blanking Shawnigan Lake School 4-0 on Thursday, and it was clear that momentum rolled right into Sunday’s battle with PCHA. RHAK outshot their opponents 14-2 in the first period, leading by one thanks to a goal by Reid Rabinovitch (1G, 1A). Parker Parrish (31/36) performed well throughout the game, stopping 13 in the first, but was ultimately left to suffer in the second period. RHAK rattled off three straight, led by three points apiece by Ayden Saran (1G, 2A) and Brody Bradshaw (1G, 2A), RINK established a lead that, despite a couple PCHA goals, wouldn’t be threatened. RHA Kelowna prevailed 5-2 to earn their second straight win to begin the U18 Prep season.

Selwyn House School (4) vs Stanstead College (2) East U17 Prep

Selwyn House School didn’t get in on any of the September fun in the East U17 Prep division, starting their season with a 5-4 loss at the hands of Ontario Hockey Academy on Saturday. Standstead, likewise, only seated their season this weekend, winning one and losing one coming into Sunday. Stanstead led through the first period, and even outshot Selwyn throughout the evening. However, after Stanstead took a 2-1 lead late in the first, Selwyn goaltender Francis Paradis shut the door. He wouldn’t surrender another goal from there, finishing the game with 32 saves on 34 shots, and providing Selwyn a foundation on which to mount their comeback. Luca Macri (1G, 1A) tied the game with the only goal of the second, and Michael Paliotti scored two in the third period, helping Selwyn to the 4-2 victory, their first win of the U17 Prep season.

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg vs Delta Hockey Academy Black Female U18 Prep

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg had started their season with four consecutive victories heading into Sunday, facing an opponent in Delta Hockey Academy Black, whose Female U18 Prep squad have been similarly sparkling this season. They came in having lost once on the year-to-date, and the two teams’ Sunday evening battle couldn’t have come any closer. At no point during the game was either team able to establish even a two-goal lead, with the opponent responding with an equalizer any time either team managed to take a lead. Late in the third period, Raina Chala scored to give RHA Winnipeg their first lead of the game at 4-3, but less than 90 seconds later, a DHAW penalty opened the door for Delta Black to strike back. Addi McFegan scored on the power play, sending the game to overtime and eventually a shootout. The shootout lasted eight rounds, but on the sixteenth shooter, Neveah Brankovic scored the winner, giving DHA Black the victory, and goaltender Saysha Brace a well-earned victory. Brace made 37 stops on 41 shots in the sixty-five minutes of game play, and helped keep six RHA Winnipeg shots out during the shootout.

Bourget College (2) vs Stanstead College (4) East U18 Prep

Bourget College’s U18 Prep squad had recovered from a 4-2 loss against Stanstead on September 20 with a pair of victories over Ontario HA and Bishop’s College on Thursday and Friday, before their rematch with a Stanstead College team that followed their win over Bourget up with nothing but further success. Up to five wins heading into Sunday, Stanstead had scored 17 goals and conceded none in their first two games this weekend, with Bourget proving the toughest task. Even then, however, Stanstead would never waver long enough to give Bourget the opportunity to lead. Logan Foote (1G, 1A) assisted on the 2-1 goal, then scored the fourth, with Bourget at one point tying the game but unable to reach any closer than that. Renaud Auger-Mongrain made 28 saves on 30 shots in the win, now the second time this season they’ve bested Bourget by the same score already this season.

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (5) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (2) U15 Prep

The first of back-to-back games between RHA Kelowna and Okanagan Hockey Academy’s U15 Prep squads ended in a 4-3 OHA victory last night. OHA and RHA Kelowna had very similar seasons to that point, with both teams having won every game save for the ones in which they were beaten by Yale Hockey Academy. The closeness of this, as well as the tightly-fought 4-3 game on Saturday, told us Sunday would be similarly thin, as was the first period, with the two sides heading into the first interval tied 1-1. However, in the second period, RHA Kelowna started to string some offence together in the second, an offence that would prove to be the difference in this game. Nathan Johnson, Austin Schultz, and Ajax Smith all scored in the second for RHA Kelowna, and while OHA had an offensive pushback come in the form of a Cohen Short goal, RHAK’s domination still persisted. Ben Tyssen scored into the empty net to seal it, helping RHA Kelowna avenge last night’s loss with a 5-2 win.

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (2) vs Notre Dame Hounds (0) U17 Prep

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy bested the Notre Dame Hounds’ U17 Prep team back on Friday, winning 4-3, before falling 5-0 to Prairie Hockey Academy on Saturday. Notre Dame had lost twice to Prairie heading into this weekend, and after the loss to PMHA on Friday, Sunday marked their only chance to pick up a win before their battle with Edge School on October 25. There was one difference between the two teams that played an incredibly tight, hard-fought Sunday afternoon battle: PMHA goaltender Gavin Hildebrand. He made 33 saves on 33 shots in the game, and Maddox Ramage’s second-period goal shorthanded stood as the winner. Daan Melchior extended the lead to 2-0 in the third, and Hildebrand made every save he needed to make from there, helping PMHA seal the win.

OHA Edmonton (5) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (4) Female U18 Prep

RHA Kelowna have been the titans of the Female U18 Prep division for a number of seasons now and still remains undefeated in the 2025/26 season. However, OHA Edmonton’s young core has racked up a 5-0-0-0 record to start the yea,r with RHA Kelowna standing right in their path. In the first, Jillian McLaughlin (2G, 1A) found a pocket of space to give RHA Kelowna the early lead. Just under two minutes later, Taryn Leighton would rush up the ice before ripping home a wrist shot glove side, tying this contest up a 1-1 through twenty. RHA Kelowna would come out of the gates early in the second as veteran forward Alida Korte put home a highlight reel goal to restore RINK’s lead. McLaughlin would extend said lead shortly after, cramming home a loose puck in the goalmouth. RHA Kelowna kept piling on the pressure, but a late spurt from OHA Edmonton would change the narrative of this contest. Mercedes Dunbar would pick her corner after receiving a drop pass from Neve Jugnauth, cutting the deficit to one. Then, a mere 16 seconds later, star forward Riley Cooper’s (1G, 2A) shot would deflect off Peyton Carter, making this a tie game heading into the final period. OHA Edmonton goaltender Emma Skolney (33/37) would make a key stop early in the third, building up to Avery Sam’s (1G, 1A) go-ahead goal off a wrap-around feed from Cooper. A couple of minutes later, Kennedy Sisson would waltz into the slot before firing one past Skolney, scoring her fifth goal of the season. Time would pass but OHA Edmonton would keep up the pressure. That pressure would ultimately lead to Cooper’s late go-ahead goal off a tic-tac-toe play from behind the net with Sam and Ryann Chimera (3A). Cooper’s goal would stand as the game winner as OHA Edmonton kept their perfect record intact, improving to 6-0-0-0 on the season.

Edge School (3) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (2) U17 Prep

Edge School’s U17 Prep squad had both of their games on the weekend, heading into Sunday’s battle with the Northern Alberta Xtreme. NAX hadn’t yet gotten their season underway heading into Sunday, but despite that, their first 25 minutes looked to have set them up for victory. Vancouver Giants prospect Daniel Makovetskiy (1G, 1A) popped up to help NAX to a 2-0 lead, one they’d hold until Liam Huxley took a slashing penalty within the second period. Edge School, however, took over from there, with two of the U17 squad’s top players making a big difference. Ryder Johnsen scored on the ensuing power play to pull Edge back within one before Evan Lynch (1G, 2A) tied things up later in the second. The game remained squarely tied at two until the late stages of the third, until Ryder Johnsen’s second of the game gave Edge School the lead with just 75 seconds left in the third period. Edge School survived the last stages, winning 3-2 thanks to their comeback from the early 2-0 deficit.

Fairmont Hockey (4) vs Ulysse Academie (6) East U18 Prep

Ulysse Academie’s season so far has seen them bounce back from a 7-0 loss in their opener by winning three straight games. After 12 goals against Mount Academy on Saturday, Ulysse was ruthless offensively against Fairmont Hockey. Multi-point efforts from Justin Belanger (1G, 2A), Xavier Duchesneau (1G, 1A), Alex Graveline (1G, 1A), Vincent Gosselin (1G, 1A), and Liam Dayyslva (1G, 1A) produced Ulysse the win, eventually 6-4 over a Fairmont Hockey squad who scored early to lead 1-0, but couldn’t find their way back into the game following that.

North Shore Warriors (3) vs St. George’s School (4/SO) U18 Prep

The North Shore Warriors’ lone U18 Prep game of the season was an extremely impressive 1-0 win over Yale Hockey Academy. St. George’s School had yet to get their season underway, with Sunday’s matchup against North Shore the event to kick off their season. St. George’s U15 Prep scoring star from last season, Louis Oscar Holowaychuk, wasted no time in getting his U18 Prep season underway, scoring early in the first on the power play. Holowaychuk’s impact wouldn’t end there, but in the meantime, North Shore rallied. In fact, the whole game was defined by North Shore fighting back. St. George’s two-goal advantage was pegged back by a pair of goals for North Shore before the break, before a St. George’s power-play goal would have an equal response from North Shore. The two teams scored two power-play goals for three goals apiece through 65 minutes, predating a shootout. From there, it was the two players involved in St. George’s first goals of the game to make the difference in the skills competition. The goalscorer Holowaychuk scored in the shootout before Jason Rao, who earned the primary assist on Holowaychuk’s first-period goal, ended up netting the shootout winner for St. George’s.

Northern Alberta Xtreme (0) vs Delta Hockey Academy Green (7) Female U18 Prep

After five straight losses to start the season, the Northern Alberta Xtreme U18 Female Prep squad won big over Okanagan Hockey Academy Black Saturday night, gearing up for a very difficult task on Sunday. That’s because Delta Hockey Academy Green had won two of three games against Shawnigan Lake to open their season, before back-to-back wins against Edge School and South Alberta Hockey Academy got them in the groove leading into Sunday. Unfortunately for NAX, the beat only went on for DHAG. Two goals from Gabriella Lee, along with big performances from Adie Schneider (1G, 3A) and Emma Biros (1G, 2A), led the way offensively, with Mya Young’s shutout only the exclamation point of DHA Green’s 7-0 Sunday night victory.
