Okanagan Hockey Academy (4/SO) vs Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (3) U17 Prep

If it were not for OHA’s powerplay, this contest would have ended completely differently. However, the same can be said for CDA goaltender Jackson Wagner (50/53) as he posted an immaculate 50 saves, at least securing his team a point. OHA’s powerplay would go 3/4, securing each and every goal for the Penticton-based program Friday evening. Gage Mark nabbed the first while Shea Mooney and Cooper Vogt tallied the others. Yale Hockey Academy (7) vs BWC Academy (8/SO) U17 Prep

An absolute barn burner closed off our Friday evening as Yale and BWC Academy were trading goals like Pokemon card in the school playground at recess. After the first we were all knotted up at 2-2 with both teams striking on the powerplay once. The mayhem would continue in the second as each team would go back-to-back-to-back, leading to an eventual 5-5 score. Jaden Brackett would get the last laugh for BWC Academy at the end of the frame giving them the lead through forty. Zack Jones would go on to extend that lead in the middle stage of the third. But as it looked like BWC Academy was going to run away with it, Yale would strike twice in the lates stages of the frame as Kessler Hauser (4G) and Matteo Zenone tied this one back up eventually forcing a shootout. Kooper Kozmeniuk (2G, 1A) and Kayden Pratt (2G) would each secure their makeshift hat-tricks, scoring back-to-back for BWC Academy while Liam Kellett (33/40) stopped two of Yale’s attempts, giving them the victory in one of the more volatile games we’ll see all season!
