GAME DAY RECAP: November 17, 2023

Ontario Hockey Academy Gold (6) vs Okanagan Hockey Ontario (3) U18 Eastern U18

Theodor Abercrombie (2G, 1A) and Thorvald Naess (2G, 1A) each scored twice while Vincenzo Di Rocco (1G, 2A) and Keegan Fox (3A) added three points as OHA Gold defeated OHO 6-3. Jordan Laroda (1G, 1A) led the OHO offence with a goal and an assist. Hakon Eskeland (36/39) and Kevin Podgurny (34/39) were in net for their respective teams. 

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (5/SO) vs Calgary International Hockey Academy (4) U18 Prep

Owen Miller and Hudson Binder (2G) scored 1:20 apart as CIHA took an early 2-0 lead. Kayden Turner and Karter Radtke would trade late first period goals. After a scoreless second, Binder would extend the lead 10:54 into the third. Lucas Bertolin (2G) would score back-to-back goals to give CIHA life before Remy Hlady tied the game with 52 seconds remaining. OT solved nothing and an eight round shootout was needed before Kaden Allan gave RHA Winnipeg the victory. 

South Alberta Hockey Academy (6) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (1) Female U18 Prep

Keyana Bert (1G, 1A), Kiyra Kletzel and Kamryn Reiber (3G) scored first period goals and Reiber added one in the second period as SAHA held a commanding 4-0 lead heading into the third. Brooke Dolynchuk’s first of the season 2:04 into the third gave NAX life but Reiber would complete the hat-trick and Brianna Finke (1G, 1A) would score last as the SAHA power play went 4-for-5 in a 6-1 win. Tayler Cohen (31/32) made 31 saves for the win. 

BWC Academy Gold (13) vs North Shore Warriors (1) U17 Prep

Gianni Bosa (3G, 2A) paced the BWC Academy Gold offence with a hat-trick and 5 points in a 13-1 win. Keagan Lundie (2G, 1A) and Christian Revel (2G) each scored twice and Korbin Rodel (15/16) made 15 saves. Lucas Lekakis scored the lone North Shore goal and Beckham Brossard (57/70) made 57 saves. 

St. Mary’s Academy (2) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (6) Female U18 Prep

Tyhia Delorme (4A) led all skaters with four points, Katie Anhalt (2G) scored twice and Inhye Jang (45/47) made 45 saves as RHA Winnipeg beat St. Mary’s 6-2. Addison Kartusch and Quinn Sutherland scored for St. Mary’s in the loss. The win brings RHA Winnipeg to 6-6-1 on the season. 

North Shore Warriors (2) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (7) Female U18 Prep

OHA outshot NSW 39-19 en route to a 7-2 win Friday. Anna Kapocsi (4A) had four assists while Sara Gerdel (2G) and Tiani Makokis (2G) each scored twice in the win. Korie McGill (1G, 2A) chipped in with a three point effort and Jorja Moore (17/19) was in net for the win. Jaida Powell (1G, 1A) played a part in both North Shore goals. 

Delta Hockey Academy Black (4) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy White (0) U17 Prep

Jake Poblete (42/42) recorded a 42 save shutout to backstop Delta Black to a 4-0 victory over PCHA White. Jordan Nguyen (3G, 1A) and Nicholas Campbell (1G, 3A) teamed up for all four Delta Black goals in the win. Ander Reyes (37/41) made 37 saves in net for PCHA White. 

Notre Dame Red (2) vs Edge School Maroon (7) U17 Prep

After a scoreless first Edge Maroon scored six second period goals as they skated to a 7-2 victory. Luca Dufour (2G) and Nick Wytrychowski (2G, 1A) each scored twice while Carter Voll (1G, 2A) added three points of his own. Brooke Davis (20/22) made 20 saves for her fourth win of the season. Carson Hiebert and Ronan Shirtliffe scored for Notre Dame Red in the loss. 

Rink Hockey Academy Kelowna Red (5) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy Black (0) U17 Prep

Backed by a 24 save shutout performance from Levi Hollatz (24/24), RHA Kelowna Red defeated OHA Black 5-0. Brayden Westman (3G) recorded a hat-trick to pace the RHA Kelowna offence. Rylan Saunders (2A) and Luke Silvernagle (2A) each tallied two assists in the win. Kaleb Miller (30/35) was in net for the loss. 

Okanagan Hockey Academy (4/OT) vs BWC Academy (3) U15

Bradey Ching scored 1:36 in and Eddie Kemp added a goal of his own as BWC Academy led 2-0 after 20. Ben Campbell (1G, 1A) would score the lone second period goal to get OHA on the board. Joel Parker would tie the game 1:16 into the third before Roman Haddad (1G, 1A) scored the go-ahead goal for OHA early in the final frame. Ryan Frick (1G, 1A) would tie the game with just over one minute remaining. In OT, Rylan Bengert would score with 12 seconds remaining to give OHA the 4-3 win. 

North Shore Warriors Orange (6) vs Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy Navy (1) U17 Prep

North Shore Orange (1-9-0) earned their first win of the season with a 6-1 victory over CDA Navy (0-14-0). Laurenz Liebhart (2G, 1A), Christopher Mah (1G, 1A), and Davis Tomczak would combine for four NSW Orange goals in a span of 3:20 midway through the first. Finlay Reed would respond for CDA Navy in the closing minutes of the first. Tyrese Martinez and Noah Russo would add second period tallies and Erik Blair (26/27) would shut the door in the final 40 to secure a NSW Orange victory.
