GAME DAY RECAP: November 10, 2022

Okanagan Hockey Academy U18 (11) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy U18 (0) Female U18 Prep

OHA outshot PMHA 73-4 and scored 4 goals in the first and second, plus 3 more in the third as they defeated PMHA 11-0. Makena Lloyd-Howe (3G, 1A) recorded a hattrick while her and Danica Maynard (2G, 2A) led all skaters with four points. Nya Bakker (2G, 1A) and Julia Duke (2G) each scored twice, while Kenzee Hope (2A) had two assists. Elly Lowe (4/4) was in net for the shutout victory.

Delta Hockey Academy U17 (3/OT) vs  Okanagan Hockey Academy U17 (2) Female U18 Prep

Sydney McIntosh (2G) scored the first two goals of the game as Delta held a 2-0 lead heading into the third. Anna Kapocsi would score 4:59 into the third and Taylor Bierlmeier would tie the game with 8:07 remaining in the game. The game would head to overtime where Ava Hamel would score her first of the season just 11 seconds in, giving Delta a 3-2 win. Alix Walchuk (21/23) made 21 saves for Delta in the win while Jordan Tung (31/34) was in net for OHA in the loss.

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna U18 (14) vs Shawnigan Lake School (1) U18 Female U18 Prep

Raedyn Spademan (3G) scored a hattrick, Janelle Evans (6A) led all skaters with six points, and and Gracie Graham (2G, 1A), Maddie Leaney (2G), Kaitlyn Mallette (2G, 1A), and Keara Parker (2G, 2A) all scored twice for RHA Kelowna in a 14-1 win. Morgan Jackson scored the lone Shawnigan goal, beating Madison Bowtell (17/18) in the first period, just eight seconds after Graham had given RHA Kelowna a 3-0 lead.

Delta Hockey Academy U18 (4) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme U18 (0) Female U18 Prep

Backed by a Jordan Baxter (3G) hattrick and Tayler Cohen (11/11) shutout, Delta defeated NAX 4-0. Jaylyn Morris recorded the other Delta goal and Sarah Webster (2A) had two assists in the win. Erika Lind (26/30) was in net for NAX in the loss.

North Shore Warriors (3/SO) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (2) U16 Prep

Cody Lee scored his second goal of the season 2:21 into the first as North Shore held an early lead. But Henry Thunderblanket would respond four minutes later and Kane Domres would give PHA the 2-1 advantage midway through the first. Rowan Sandhu (1G, 1A) would tie the game midway through the second, and after a scoreless third and overtime the two teams would head to a shootout. Brandin Cronin and Cameron Collins would each score for North Shore, and Nicklaus Kotai (38/40) would stop three of the four Prairie shooters to give his team a 3-2 win.

Edge School U18 (9) vs St. Mary’s Academy U18 (4) Female U18 Prep

Edge went 3 for 3 on the powerplay and outshot St. Mary’s 44-23 in a 9-4 victory Thursday night. Brooklyn Deck (2G), Kyla Mitenko (2G, 1A) and Shannon Pearson (2G) each scored twice while Jennifer Keller (1G, 3A) led all skaters with four points. Julia Bilous, Mia Faseruk (2G, 1A) and Letta Mattheos all scored for St. Mary’s in the loss.

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (6) vs Notre Dame (1) U18 Prep

Burke Hood (23/24) made 23 saves, Jackson Kostiuk (4A) recorded 4 points and RHA Winnipeg scored 3 times on the powerplay as they defeated Notre Dame 6-1. Blake Goretzki (1G, 2A), Peyton Kettles, Gavin Nemis, Hayden Paupanekis (1G, 1A), Cole Penner,  and Peyton Pieczko all scored for RHA Winnipeg in the win. Aaron Shanks scored the lone Notre Dame goal of the game.

South Alberta Hockey Academy U18 (4) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg U18 (0) Female U18 Prep

Despite firing just 19 shots at the RHA Winnipeg net, SAHA skaters Maddison Andrew (1G, 1A), Emersyn Baugh, Brooklynne Painter, and Tea Pearce all scored for SAHA in a 4-0 win. Devyn Amundson (21/21) earned the shutout, while Kenzie Carson (2A) and Riley Gramlich (2A) each recorded two assists.
