GAME DAY RECAP: March 4, 2023

Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (1) vs BWC Academy (5) U17 Prep

Verners Veinbergs scored his 11th of the season in the opening minute of the game for Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy, but BWC Academy responded with five unanswered goals. Aiden Mukai, Daniel Tong, Ashton Beriana, James Campbell and Hunter Henry all lit the lamp for BWC Academy. Josh Vallee picked up the win between the pipes, turning aside 36 of 37 shots he faced. 

BWC Academy (4) vs Delta Hockey Academy (3) U16 Prep

It was a back-and-forth affair between Delta Hockey Academy and BWC Academy, with BWC getting the edge at the end of regulation. Shaenen Long, Brandon Burns and Nicholas Drapack scored for BWC Academy, with Christian Revel scoring the game-winner on the powerplay in the third period. Billy MacDonald had three assists for Delta Hockey Academy in the loss.

RHA Winnipeg (4) vs Edge School (5) U15 Prep

Mirco Dufour scored twice for Edge School, including his third of the season 15 seconds into the third period. Landon DuPont scored his 15th goal on the powerplay and Ty Hynes’ sixth of the season held up as the game-winner for Edge. Sage Dela Cruz had a three point effort for RHA Winnipeg in the loss, scoring a goal and two assists.

Bourget College U18 (5) vs Ontario Hockey Academy U18 (1) Eastern U18

Bourget College fired 58 shots on net in the game, lighting the lamp five times. Santiago Gosselin registered a hat-trick, Ethan Albert had a goal and an assist and Gavin McLenaghan scored the game-winner on the powerplay, his 16th goal of the season. Teddy Ecker turned aside 24 of 25 shots he faced to pick up the win for Bourget. 

OHA Edmonton (5) vs Edge School (6/OT) U16 Prep

Lachlan Hanton scored two goals for Edge School, while Hunter Kelso and Sawyer Samycia added a goal and an assist each. Callum MacLean scored twice for OHA Edmonton, including his 10th of the season to tie the game and force overtime. However, in the extra frame, Lincoln Martin scored his 20th of the season for Edge to win the game.

North Shore Warriors (4) vs Delta Hockey Academy (5/OT) U18 Prep

Each team would score three times in the first and once in the third before Chase Harrington (1G, 2A) scored 2:14 into overtime to give Delta the 5-4 win. Defenseman Jaren Ashbee (2G, 2A) and Linden Burrett (2G) would score the other goals for Delta and Noah Stenvig (28/32) made 28 saves for the win. Ocean Angus, Gavin Huynh, Levi McLeod and Matteo Paradiso (1G, 1A) scored for North Shore in the loss. 

Edge School (4) vs International Hockey Academy (5/SO) U18 Prep

Edge led 4-1 heading into the third before Gavin Garland (2G) scored twice and Mitchell Patrick once to tie the game and force OT. After OT solved nothing it took until the fourth round before anyone scored as Arad Badamchi Zadeh beat Ben Polhill (21/25) to give IHA the 5-4 win. Brenner Fyfe (20/24) made 20 saves in the win. 

OHA Edmonton (7) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (4) U18 Prep

Luke Roberts made 67 saves on 71 shots faced for OHA Edmonton to register the win between the pipes. Julien Maze had five points for OHAE, with two goals and three assists, while Landen McFadden scored twice and added two helpers. Joseph Krukowski notched a pair of goals and Chanse Cronklin scored a goal and two assists to round it out. 

Prairie Hockey Academy (2) vs Notre Dame (4) U16 Prep

Jack Elliot scored just 14 seconds into the game to give Notre Dame the early lead, while Michael Donovan added to the lead in the second period with his 11th of the season. Prairie Hockey Academy had goals from Riedar Armstrong and Jackson Folliott. However, Alec Nesreddine and Carter Ellsworth both scored powerplay tallies to make the difference for the Hounds.

RHA Kelowna (6) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (3) U17 Prep

Hudson Closson (2G) gave OHA the lead after 20 before Kelsen Podworny (1G, 1A) and Logan Flint responded for RHA Kelowna in the second. A late goal from Logan Bates would see the game tied entering the third but Jake Skogstad (1G, 1A) scored 45 seconds into the third and Noah Smith and Ryker Rougeau (2G, 1A) would score three goals for RHA Kelowna in a span of 57 seconds. Closson would add a late consolation goal for OHA but Thomas MacLean (33/36) made 33 saves for the win. 

Edge School (4) vs OHA Edmonton (1) U17 Prep

After a scoreless first Lachlan Hanton and Marcus Vo would score second period goals for Edge. Evan Auld would extend the lead early in the third before Keanan Pearman would get OHA Edmonton on the board midway through the final frame. An empty net goal by Owen Mastroianni would secure the Edge victory. Gabe Bergeron (18/19) made 18 saves in the win. 

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (2) vs Shawnigan Lake School (6) U17 Prep

Shawnigan Lake scored five straight to open the game en route to a 6-2 victory. Brendyn Van Oene (2G, 1A) scored twice while Marcus Hughes (2A), Keegan Lonsdale (2A) and Cole Mekelburg (2A) each recorded two assists in the win. Emmett Neitsch (24/26) made 24 saves in the win with PCHA defenseman Leith Hunter and Michael Konechny scoring their teams goals. 

Delta Hockey Academy Green (13) vs North Shore Warriors (1) U15 Prep

The game was tied 1-1 after 20 before Delta Green scored twelve unanswered in the final 40 minutes. Max Malinousky (5G) scored five goals and Nickolas Kovich (3G, 1A) recorded a hattrick. Nate Barclay (1G, 5A) led all skaters with six points and Nathaniel Danielson (4A) and Lukas Lima (2G, 2A) each recorded two assists. 

RHA Kelowna (2) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (4)U16 Prep

Luca Cupello scored the lone first period goal before Tate Wilkinson and Bradley Schmidt (1G, 2A) responded in the second for OHA. Julian Galenza would tie the game 1:08 later before Kyson Lindsay regave OHA the lead heading into the third. A Simon Cecconi (1G, 1A) third period goal would put the game out of reach and Jonah Tonhauser (23/25) made 23 saves for OHA to give them the win. 

Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (3) vs St. George’s School (8) U18 Prep

Rui Han (3G, 1A) recorded a hattrick and Ethan Buckland (4A) and Connor Pankratz (1G, 3A) each had four point nights to pace the St. George’s offence in an 8-3 win. Lance Insko (1G, 2A) and Remi Lapalme (2G, 1A) had three point games for CDA in the loss. 

Shawnigan Lake School (1) vs BWC Academy (4) U18 Prep

Zephyr Tangri (1G, 1A) scored the lone first period goal and Nate Crema the only second period marker as BWC Academy led 2-0 heading into the third. Dillon Matvichuk extended the lead before Matt Patry finally got Shawnigan on the board when he beat Aidan Fischer (31/32) with less than five minutes remaining. But Liam Payne would score on the power play for BWC Academy less than two minutes later to secure the 4-1 win. 

RHA Kelowna (5) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (4) U15 Prep

Liam Ruck (2G) scored 1:28 in and Mathis Preston (3G) scored midway through the first as OHA grabbed an early 2-0 lead. A power play goal by Brock Heidecker (1G, 1A) would get RHA Kelowna on the board late in the first and Aaron Zulinick would tie the game in the second. Ruck would re-give OHA the lead before Cruz Waltze tied it again heading into the third. Preston would complete his hattrick with his 45 and 46 goals of the season to give OHA a 5-3 lead in the third. Cage Smith (1G, 1A) would get one back for RHA Kelowna but they were unable to beat Micah Davidson (26/30) again as OHA held on for a 5-4 win. 

Delta Hockey Academy (6) vs North Shore Warriors (1) U15

Alexander Laing (3A), Jack Morgan (1G, 2A) and Treyce Pavlic (2G, 1A) all recorded three point games as Delta defeated North Shore 6-1. Brennan Lovitt, Bryson Roberts, and Kishan Saggu scored the other goals for Delta while Matthew Wong (17/18) made 17 saves in the win. Jace Hickin scored the lone North Shore goal and Oscar Hicik (35/41) stopped 35 shots in the loss.
