Shawnigan Lake School (4) vs Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (2) U17 Prep
In the inaugural Winter Classic Shawnigan Lake defeated CDA 4-2 at Sun Peaks Skating Rink in Sun Peaks, BC. Marcus Hughes and Luke Van Zyl (1G, 1A) scored 29 seconds apart as SLS gabbed a 2-0 lead. Riley Nadell would respond for CDA, making the score 2-1 heading into the first intermission. Brody Asuchak (1G, 1A) would score the lone second period goal on the powerplay to tie the game heading into the third. Oliver Keeffe would re-give Shawnigan the lead 2:45 into the third and Eliot Compton (1G, 1A) would clinch the Shawnigan win with 59 seconds remaining.
Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (5) vs North Shore Warriors (1) U18 Prep
Trace Anderson would score the lone first period goal and Rowan Guest (1G, 1A) would score 1:26 into the second as PCHA held an early 2-0 advantage. Ryan McAuley would bring North Shore within one just four minutes later but a goal from Landon Mackie and two from Carson Lesiuk (2G) before the second period ended gave PCHA a 5-1 lead. Ryan Parker (29/30) would shut the door the rest of the way to ensure the win.
Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (6) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (2) U15 Prep
Asher Cunningham scored his first of the season 3:27 in as Prairie lead 1-0 after 20. Hank Thompson (2G, 1A) would tie the game early in the second before Boone Bender and Carson Carels (2G) traded goals to round out the period. The third would see PMHA score four goals in a span of 4:20 as Benson Hirst (1G, 1A), Thompson, Carels and Dwight Sawatzky (1G, 1A) all found the back of the net. Zachary Rogers (15/17) earned the win while John Gall (38/44) was in net for the loss.
South Alberta Hockey Academy (5) vs Notre Dame (3) U18 Prep
Notre Dame led 2-1 after 20 and 3-2 after 40 but two third period goals from Gavin McKenna (2G, 2A) and one from Matthew Paranych (1G, 2A) gave SAHA a 5-3 victory. Taylor Ivison (1G, 1A) and Ryan Miller (2A) each added two points and Owen Pettipas (26/29) made 26 stops for the win. Ryan Zabchuk (1G, 2A) recorded a point on all three Notre Dame goals.
Okanagan Hockey Academy (7) vs Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (0) U18 Prep
Jace Shuttleworth (3G, 1A) recorded a hattrick, Grady Hope (3A) added three assists and Presley Kerner (2G) scored twice as OHA defeated CDA 7-0. Nathan Preston (11/11) made 11 stops for his third shutout of the season while Ben Delisi (49/56) made 49 stops in the loss.
BWC Academy (4) vs North Shore Warriors (0) U16 Prep
Christian Revel, Keiran Wilkie, Zac Lorence and Aidan Mark (1G, 1A) all scored for BWC Academy while Noah Sinagowitz (22/22) made 22 saves to shutout North Shore in a 4-0 victory. Shaenen Long (3A) and Cooper Stockdale (2A) each recorded multiple assists in the win.
