GAME DAY RECAP: February 17, 2023

St. Mary’s Academy U18 (0) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme U18 (5) Female U18 Prep

Hyoseo Cheon (26/26) made 26 saves and Allison McGregor (2G, 1A) led all skaters with three points as NAX defeated St. Mary’s 5-0. Defensemen Danika Aubin, Gracyn MacKay and Brayden Stewart scored the other goals for NAX in the win. Keyauna Robinson-Prefontaine (31/36) made 31 saves for St. Mary’s. 

Ontario Hockey Academy U18 (0) vs CIH Academy U18 (7) East U18

Matthias Mader (2G, 2A) and Sergei Kolesov (2G) each scored twice as CIH defeated Ontario Hockey Academy 7-0. Liam Lynn (1G, 2A) and Nikita Schneider (3A) each recorded three point games and Thomas Samborski (22/22) made 22 saves for the shutout. 

Edge School (4) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (7) U17 Prep

Tucker Tullikopf (1G, 1A) and Finn Kallay (1G, 1A) each scored for NAX in the first 4:45 of the game. Nate Crashley would respond for Edge 32 seconds later as the first ended at 2-1 NAX. Owen Mastroianni (1G, 3A) would tie the game 7:43 into the second before Jaxen Gauchier (2G) and Clarke Schaefer (2G) gave NAX a three goal lead heading into the third. Schaefer and Jack Toogood (1G, 1A) would extend the lead in the second before Brennen Hocher (1G, 1A) and Logan Murray (1G, 2A) would try and get Edge back in a game that would ultimately end with NAX winning 7-4. 

OHA Edmonton (2) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (7) U15

Kyle Fahey (2G) and Gavin Harrison (2G) each scored twice, Memphis Adeniken (3A) and Jaggar John (3A) had three assists and Cam Hoose (24/26) made 24 saves as NAX defeated OHA Edmonton 7-2. Tyson Chrunik and Noah Stone scored for OHA Edmonton while Cole Chorostkowski (53/60) made 53 saves in the loss. 

North Shore Warriors (1) vs RHA Kelowna (5) U18 Prep

RHA Kelowna scored the first four goals of the game as Callas Pierce (1G, 1A), Bronson Ross (1G, 1A), Cole Balkovec (1G, 1A) and Brayden Rotach all found the back of the net in the first 35 minutes of the game. Adam Valach would get North Shore on the board late in the second but a Kai Adano third period goal would secure a 5-1 RHA Kelowna victory. 

Delta Hockey Academy (3) vs North Shore Warriors (4) U16 Prep

Nicklaus Kotai (30/33) made 30 saves while Cameron Collings, Gavin Huynh, Lucas Jakubec and Matteo Paradiso (1G, 1A) all scored for North Shore as they beat Delta 4-3. Nicholas Campbell, Kyle Mayenburg and Dalton Toma (1G, 1A) all scored for Delta in the loss. Shay McVicker (27/31) made 27 saves. 

OHA Edmonton (2) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (5) U17 Prep

After a scoreless first Wyatt Dreger and Cole King scored three minutes apart early in the second. Max Stanton would respond for OHA Edmonton but Kierin Osberg (1G, 1A) would restore the PHA two goal lead just two minutes later. Austin Wentz and Lukas Borne would score third period goals for PHA while Aiden Petherick would score a late consolation goal for OHA Edmonton. 

Okanagan Hockey Academy (8) vs North Shore Warriors (1) U15 Prep

Keegan Bailey (3G, 1A) tallied a hattrick, Mathis Preston (2G, 1A) and Liam Ruck (2G, 3A) each scored twice and Markus Ruck (6A) led all skaters with six points as OHA defeated North Shore 8-1. Parker Parrish (15/16) made 16 saves with Christopher Mah scoring the lone NSW goal. 

Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (1) vs Yale Hockey Academy (10) U18 Prep

Luke Cozens (3G, 2A) and Nolan Viesner (1G, 4A) paced the Yale offence as they defeated CDA 10-1 Friday. Kalan Anderlini (3A) and Hunter Aura (3A) each added three assists while Chase Valliant (1G, 2A) had a three point game of his own. Ripley Garden scored the lone CDA goal. 

Delta Hockey Academy U18 (8) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy U17 (0) Female U18 Prep

Ellie Chou (1G, 2A), Molly Cole (1G, 2A) and Ella Dunn (2G, 1A) all recorded three point games as Delta U18 beat OHA U17 8-0. Jordan Baxter (1G, 1A), London McDavid (1G, 1A), Vanessa Schaefer (2A), and Anjali Simms (1G, 1A) all had multi-point outings. Tayler Cohen (10/10) made just 10 saves for the shutout. 

Edge School (0) vs Notre Dame (3) U16 Prep

Grady Peterson (30/30) made 30 saves for his second shutout of the season as Notre Dame blanked Edge School 3-0. Notre Dame got a single goal each period as Jase McNichol, Calvin Gustafson and Jack Elliott all found the back of the net. Kade McIvor (2A) had two assists in the win. Brooke Davis (39/41) allowed just two goals in the loss with the third Notre Dame goal being an empty netter.

International Hockey Academy (7/OT) vs Indigenous Sports Academy (6) U17 Prep

A back and forth high scoring affair saw Michiel Leenders (2G) score 2:53 into overtime to give IHA a 7-6 win over ISA. Tayvian Delorme (2G, 1A) scored 24 seconds in and ISA led 3-2 after 20. Second period goals from Luca Dufour (2G, 1A) and Ayaan Vira (1G, 3A) would see IHA up 4-3 after 40 minutes of play. Delorme would strike again early in the third, this time 40 seconds in before both teams traded goals to close out regulation. 

Delta Hockey Academy U17 (0) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy U18 (4) Female U18 Prep

Sydney Mintz scored what would turn out to be the game winning goal 8:43 into the first as OHA U18 defeated Delta U17 4-0. Mintz, Gabby Lindsay and Jiya Deol would score third period goals and Farah Walker (22/22) would stop all 22 shots she faced for her third shutout of the season. Jillian Matthews (39/43) stopped 39 shots in the loss. 

Yale Hockey Academy (6) vs BWC Academy (2) U17 Prep

Alexandre Jacques (3G, 1A) recorded a hattrick, Nate Stevens (41/43) made 41 saves and Yale defeated BWC Academy 6-2. Lucas Biros, Kahn Dhaliwal, and Kyounghun Oh scored the other Yale goals in the victory. Nolan Gray (2G) scored both BWC Academy goals in the loss.
