Friesen Signs WHL SPA with Winnipeg Ice

Evan Friesen has signed a Western Hockey League (WHL) Standard Player Agreement (SPA) with the Winnipeg Ice.

The forward spent the 2020/21 COVID shortened season with the Winnipeg Blues of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL). In six games he recorded three goals and two assists. Friesen was originally drafted by the Blues in the second round of the 2019 MJHL Draft.

Prior to joining the Blues, Friesen spent two seasons at Rink Hockey Academy Winnipeg. He played 29 games at the U15 Prep level and another 35 at the U16 Prep. In total he tallied 33 points, plus an additional 5 points in 5 Canadian Sports School Hockey League (CSSHL) playoff games.

Friesen, who is originally from Winnipeg, MB, went undrafted in the 2019 WHL Draft.
