Four CSSHL products invited to Hockey Canada goaltending camp

Hockey Canada announced the 23 goaltenders invited to their virtual four-day Program of Excellence goaltending camp, to be held June 9-12.

The list of goaltenders includes five at the under-20 level, six at the under-18 level and 12 at the under-17 level.

Of the 23 invitees, four are either current or former Canadian Sport School Hockey League student athletes.

Dylan Garand is one of the five Under-20 goaltenders invited to the camp.

The Victoria, B.C. product attended the Delta Hockey Academy from 2016 to 2018, competing on their U15 Prep and U18 Prep teams during his two seasons. He has spent the past two seasons with the Western Hockey League’s Kamloops Blazers.

Tyler Brennan and Thomas Milic are among the six Under-18 goaltenders invited.

Brennan, 16, attended the Rink Hockey Academy from 2017 to 2019, competing on their U15 Prep and U18 Prep teams. The Winnipeg, Man. product spent the 2019-20 season with the WHL’s Prince George Cougars.

Milic, 17, recently completed his third season in the CSSHL with the BWC Academy. After competing with their U15 Prep team during the 2017-18 season, the New Westminster, B.C. product has played the past two seasons with their U18 Prep team. The Seattle Thunderbirds prospect was named the CSSHL U15 Prep Top Goaltender in 2018 and the CSSHL U18 Prep Top Goaltender in 2020.

Ethan Buenaventura is one of the 12 goaltenders invited at the Under-17 level.

The Winnipeg, Man. product has attended the Rink Hockey Academy the past two seasons, most recently competing with their U18 Prep team. During the 2018-19 season, the Calgary Hitmen product led the CSSHL U15 Prep Division with a .925 save-percentage.
