Former OHA Forward Signs First Pro Contract

Former Okanagan Hockey Academy (OHA) student-athlete Logan Nijhoff has signed a two-year American Hockey League (AHL) contract with the San Diego Gulls.

Nijhoff spent three seasons in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) with OHA, joining the program in 2015/16 with their U15 Prep team. In 20 games Nijhoff would record 13 points, prompting the Regina Pats to select the forward in the eighth round, 165th overall in the 2016 Western Hockey League (WHL) Draft. Nijhoff would spend the 2016/17 season with the OHA White U18 Prep team, tallying 24 points in 32 games.

In 2017/18 Nijhoff would split the season with the OHA Red U18 Prep team, and the Pats. In 17 CSSHL games the Comox, BC product would record 22 points, while tallying 6 points in 30 WHL games with the Pats.

He would join the Pats full time in 2018/19, finishing with 17 points in 59 games. He would finish with 34 points in 61 games in 2019/20, and 17 points in 24 games while captaining the team in 2020/21. In 54 games this season Nijhoff has recorded 46 points.
