Former Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX) student-athlete Aidan Fink has signed an NHL Entry Level Contract with the Nashville Predators.
Fink joined NAX for the 2019/20 CSSHL U16 Prep season, tallying 44 points in 27 games to finish third in team scoring. The following U18 Prep season he would tally three points in three games with NAX.
The Calgary, AB forward joined the Brooks Bandits for the 2021/22 AJHL season, posting 53 points in 60 regular season games and an additional 10 points in 13 playoff games as Brooks took home the 2021/22 AJHL Championship.
2022/23 was a breakout year for Fink as he led the AJHL with 97 points, earning AJHL (South) All-Star, AJHL Top Forward, AJHL MVP, CJHL Top Forward, and CJHL MVP honours. He would once again help Brooks win an AJHL Championship, while leading the World Junior A Challenge with 7 assists and 12 points for Team Canada West, earning WJAC All-Star Team honours.
At the conclusion of the season the Predators selected Fink with in the seventh round, 218th overall at the 2023 NHL Entry Draft. The Predators specifically traded for this final pick to honor David Poile, the winningest GM in NHL history, before his retirement.
Fink would join Penn State University in 2023/24 as an NCAA Freshman. That season he posted 34 points in 34 games, grabbing NCAA (B1G) All-Rookie Team honours while being named a Hobey Baker Memorial Award Nominee. In 2024/25 he would be named a Hobey Baker Award Finalist, an NCAA (B1G) First Team All-Star, a NCAA (USCHO) Third Team All-Star, and a NCAA (West) Second Team All-American after finishing first on his team and fourth in the NCAA with 53 points in 40 games.
This past season Fink recorded 38 points in 30 games with Penn State. He would also represent the U.S. Collegiate Selects at the historic Spengler Cup, leading the tournament with eight points and being named to the Spengler Cup All-Star team.
After his NCAA season ended, Fink joined the Predators AHL affiliate, the Milwaukee Admirals, and has since totaled 10 points in 6 AHL games.
