Delta Student-Athletes Take Part in Unbeatable Warriors

On May 14-15, 2022 15 Delta Hockey Academy student-athletes had the opportunity to take part in the ‘Unbeatable Warriors’ event in support of the ‘Little Warriors’ charitable organization.

SealFit trainers reached out to Delta’s strength coaches to invite a group of student-athletes to join the ‘Unbeatable Warriors’ event at the University of British Columbia (UBC). Delta President Ian Gallagher selected 15 student-athletes from the program to attend the event.

The first day of the event was a Navy Seal team building crucible (run by SealFit) which included six straight hours of physical challenges. U15 Prep Black defenseman Chayton Basanti elected to stay for the entire 12-hour crucible.

The second day of the event focused on mindfulness training run by Unbeatable Mind (also run by Navy Seals). A portion of this seminar focused on tools that individuals can use to settle their mind in times of extreme physical exertion or stress.

The goal of the event was to raise funds for Little Warriors and to provide young leaders with training programs in resilience, mental toughness and functional fitness. The fitness portion tested their physical and mental strength, and the mindfulness portion gave them time to reflect on the mental challenges they experienced while performing such strenuous physical tasks.

Delta donated jerseys, sticks and gloves from alum Brendan Gallagher and Troy Stecher for ‘Little Warriors’ to auction off.
