The Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) would like to congratulate the following current and former CSSHL student-athletes on their advancement to a sanctioned University program for the 2024/25 season:

Emile Tremblay: The St-Bruno-de-Montarville, QC forward joined Bourget for the 2021/22 U18 Prep season. He would lead the division with 34 goals and 65 points in 31 games. He would start the 2022/23 season in the SJHL with the Estevan Bruins before joining the Campbellton Tigers in the MHL, recording 11 points in 34 games.

Elias Carmichael: A defenseman from Langley, BC, Carmichael joined BWC Academy for the 2017/18 season tallying 19 points in 30 U15 Prep games. Selected in the second round, 40th overall by the Kelowna Rockets at the 2018 WHL Draft, Carmichael recorded 14 points in 27 U18 Prep games the following season. Carmichael would spend four years in the WHL with the Rockets before playing the 2023/24 season with the Red Deer Rebels. In 252 WHL games he had 14 goals and 56 assists.

Rocco La Cara: The Vancouver, BC forward joined BWC Academy for the 2017/18 U15 Prep season tallying 24 points in 30 games. The following U16 Prep campaign he had 38 points in 35 games. During the 2019/20 U18 Prep season La Cara had 16 goals and 17 assists in 34 games. He spent the 2023/24 season split between the AJHL, SJHL, and MJHL, tallying 52 points in 48 games, the majority of which came with the Selkirk Steelers.

Brock Mueller: Mueller played the 2016/17 U15 season with Edge School, accumulating 10 points in 21 games. The Calgary, AB forward would go on to spend two seasons in the AJHL with the Calgary Canucks, recording 7 points in 28 games. Mueller spent the past two seasons in the SJHL with the Flin Flon Bombers and Kindersley Klippers, recording 39 points in 75 games.

Marc Lajoie: Lajoie joined NAX for the 2017/18 U15 Prep season, tallying 30 points in 20 games. The Tri-City Americans would then select the St. Albert, AB defenseman in the first round, 14th overall at the 2018 WHL Draft. The following U18 Prep season he would tally 11 goals and 24 assists in 35 games as NAX captured a 2019 CSSHL U18 Prep Western Championship. Lajoie would spend the next four seasons with the Americans, playing 215 games while tallying 26 goals and 67 assists. This season he was named a WHL (Central) Second Team All-Star after posting 26 goals and 32 assists in 68 games.

Sam Popowich: A fifth round pick, 91st overall by the Seattle Thunderbirds at the 2018 WHL Draft, Popowich joined NAX for the 2018/19 U16 Prep season. In 36 games he had 51 points before adding 3 points in 5 playoff games as NAX captured the 2019 CSSHL U16 Prep Western Championship. He would split the following two seasons between the Spruce Grove Saints of the AJHL and in the WHL with the Thunderbirds. He would play the last three full seasons with the Thunderbirds, wrapping up a WHL career with 85 points in 219 games and winning a 2023 WHL Championship.

Luke Marshall: Marshall joined Notre Dame for the 2019/20 U16 Prep season where he tallied 3 points in 33 games. The Saskatoon, SK defenseman would finish the next season with 4 points in 8 U17 Prep games. In 2022/23 he would join the Brooks Bandits in the AJHL, recording 12 points in 35 games. In 35 games with Brooks this season Marshal had 13 points.

Joshua Schenk: The Whitehorse, YT forward joined Notre Dame for the 2018/19 U15 Prep season, finishing with 12 points in 23 games. The following U16 Prep campaign Schenk had 13 goals and 13 assists in 33 games.

Samuel McPeak: McPeak joined OHA Edmonton in 2017/18 recording 9 points in 25 regular season and playoff games as his team captured a 2018 CSSHL U15 Prep Western Championship. The following U16 Prep season he tallied 17 points in 34 games, before finishing the 2019/20 U18 Prep season with 22 points in 34 games. He would play 20 AJHL games the following two seasons with the Canmore Eagles, recording a goal and an assist. In 2022/23 the Edmonton, AB forward joined the SJHL’s Estevan Bruins, recording 10 points in 44 games. This past season McPeak had 13 goals and 18 assists in 55 MJHL games with the Waywayseecappo Wolverines.

Sean Tschigerl: Selected by the Calgary Hitmen fourth overall at the 2018 WHL Draft, Tschigerl joined OHA Edmonton for the 2016/17 U16 Prep season, finishing with 31 points in 30 games. The following season he would lead his team to a 2018 CSSHL U15 Prep Western Championship while having a team high 70 points in 30 games. During the 2018/19 U18 Prep season the Whitecourt, AB forward had 47 points in 28 games. In 2019/20 he joined the Hitmen, playing five seasons with the team before ending his WHL career with the Lethbridge Hurricanes. In 273 WHL games Tschigerl had 95 goals and 117 points, leading to the Anaheim Ducks selecting him in the fifth round, 130th overall at the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.

Zander Stewart: Stewart joined OHA for the 2018/19 U16 Prep season tallying 11 points in 36 games. The Salmon Arm, BC defenseman joined RHA Kelowna for the 2019/20 U18 Prep season tallying 22 points in 33 games. The following U18 Prep campaign he would add 4 points in 7 games. Stewart would spend the 2021/22 and 2022/23 seasons in the SJHL with the Nipawin Hawks recording 50 points in 92 games including a career high 41 during the 2022/23 season.

Owen Gouin: Gouin joined OHO for the 2019/20 season. The Oro, ON forward finished with 3 assists in 11 Eastern U18 Prep games.

Tristen Bear: Bear joined RHA Kelowna for the 2019/20 U17 Prep season, tallying 23 points in 21 games. The Winnipeg, MB forward would return home in 2020/21, playing 6 MJHL games with the Winnipeg Freeze. Bear spent the following three seasons split between the MJHL and SIJHL, finishing his junior career with 48 points in 140 games.

Tyson Laventure: Selected in the second round, 31st overall at the 2018 WHL Draft by the Prince Albert Raiders, Laventure joined RHA Kelowna for the 2016/17 U15 season, tallying a team high 53 points in 21 games. He then joined OHA Edmonton for the 2017/18 season, tallying 44 points in 30 games. He would add 7 assists in 5 playoff games to help his team capture the 2018 CSSHL U15 Prep Western Championship. During the 2018/19 U18 Prep season the Lloydminster, AB forward would lead his team with 24 goals and 56 points in 32 games. In 2019/20 he would join the Prince Albert Raiders before making stops in the WHL with the Lethbridge Hurricanes, Swift Current Broncos and Victoria Royals. Overall he had 74 goals and 92 assists in 259 WHL games.

Dylan Wightman: The Kelowna, BC forward joined RHA Kelowna in 2016/17, recording 18 points in 25 games. Wightman joined OHA in 2017/18, recording 17 points in 30 U15 Prep games. In 2019/20 he would join the Kelowna Rockets, playing 5 seasons with the club. In 216 games Wightman had 33 goals and 53 assists.

Owen Weihs: Selected in the fifth round, 95th overall by the Brandon Wheat Kings at the 2018 WHL Draft, the Winnipeg, MB forward joined RHA Winnipeg for the 2017/18 season, recording 39 points in 30 games. The following U16 Prep season he had 21 goals and 21 assists in 36 games. Weihs produced 41 points in 36 games during the 2019/20 U18 Prep campaign, his last season in the CSSHL. Weihs spent the last four seasons in the MJHL with the Steinbach Pistons and Selkirk Steelers, finishing with 53 points in 139 games.

Matt Wisener: Wisener joined RHA Winnipeg in 2017/18 where he had 23 points in 30 U15 Prep games. The following U16 Prep season the Winnipeg, MB forward had 20 points in 30 games. Wisener spent the 2021/22 and 2022/23 seasons in the MJHL with the Portage Terriers, finishing with 77 points in 95 games.

Matthew Strilets: Strilets joined Shawnigan for the 2017/18 U15 Prep season where he had 6 points in 28 games. The following U17 Prep campaign the Vancouver, BC defender had 17 points in 24 games, winning the CSSHL U17 Prep Top Defenseman Award and helping his team to a CSSHL U17 Prep Western Championship. He would spent the next two seasons with the Shawnigan U18 Prep team, recording 7 points in 38 games. In 2021/22 he would split the season between the SJHL and AJHL, before spending the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons in the AJHL. In 149 junior A games Strilets had 13 goals and 48 assists.

Ethan David: David joined St. George’s School during the 2017/18 U15 season. In 15 games the Vancouver, BC netminder would post a 6-0-0 record with 1 shutout, a .900SV% and 1.23GAA. He would play three playoff games, recording a .870SV% as St. George’s were named 2018 CSSHL U15 Western Champions. David joined Shawnigan in 2018/19. That U17 Prep season he would go 7-0-0 with a 2.26GAA, .902SV% and 1 shutout as Shawnigan captured the 2019 CSSHL U17 Prep Western Championship. The following U18 Prep season he would go 12-4-1 with 5 shutouts, a .943SV% and a division best 1.45GAA.

Emmett McHardy: The Vancouver, BC forward joined St. George’s for the 2017/18 U15 season finishing fifth in team scoring with 67 points in 30 games while helping his team win a 2018 CSSHL U15 Western Championship. The following U16 Prep season he added 18 points in 35 games. His last two seasons in the U18 Prep division he scored 6 goals and added 8 assists in 30 games.

Eli Pulver: Pulver joined St. Geoerge’s for the 2017/18 U15 season, going 24-0-0 with a .926SV%, 0.96GAA and 11 shutouts, all a division best, as his team captured a 2018 CSSHL U15 Western Championship. The following U16 Prep season the Vancouver, BC netminder went 14-6-0 with a 2.35GAA, .925SV%, and 2 shutouts. He would spend the following two seasons in the U18 Prep division going 14-11-0, with 1 shutout, a .915SV% and 2.57GAA.
