Former Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) student-athletes Connor Gourley and Joshua Niedermayer have committed to Arizona State University for the 2023/24 season.
Gourley joined Edge School for the 2019/20 U18 Prep season. A fourth round pick, 78th overall by the Seattle Thunderbirds at the 2019 Western Hockey League (WHL) Draft, Gourley would finish fifth in team scoring with 39 points in 26 games.
The Calgary, AB forward would join the Camrose Kodiaks for the 2020/21 Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) season, recording seven points in eight games. He would start the 2021/22 season with 15 points in 36 games with the Kodiaks before joining the Okotoks Oilers. He would play 17 games for them, finishing with 7 points. This season Gourley recorded 16 goals and 12 assists in 49 AJHL games with the Oilers.
A defenseman from Newport Beach, CA, Niedermayer joined the Okanagan Hockey Academy U15 Prep team in 2018/19. He would score 10 goals and assist on 12 more before being selected in the second round, 30th overall at the 2019 WHL Draft by the Vancouver Giants.
During the 2019/20 U18 Prep season, the son of NHL HHOF defenseman Scott Niedermayer, Niedermayer would record 10 goals and 10 assists in 36 games.
