CSSHL alum Caron commits to Brown University

Former Canadian Sport School Hockey League student athlete Mathieu Caron has committed to attend and play NCAA hockey at Brown University.

Caron, 19, attended the Yale Hockey Academy from 2015 to 2017, appearing in 18 games with their Midget Prep team during the 2016-17 season and 15 games with their Elite 15 team during the 2015-16 season.

The Abbotsford, B.C. product is currently in his third season with the BCHL’s Chilliwack Chiefs.

In 102 career appearances in the BCHL, Caron has registered a 54-28-1 record with a 2.65 goals-against average, .907 save-percentage and four shutouts.

Brown University is in Providence, RI and competes in the NCAA Division I ECAC Hockey.

Caron is the second CSSHL alum to commit to Brown University in the past month, following Matthew Kinash.
