Coyotes Sign Guenther

Dylan Guenther has signed his NHL Entry Level contract with the Arizona Coyotes after they selected him ninth overall in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.

Selected first overall in the 2018 Western Hockey League (WHL) Bantam Draft, Guenther has spent the last two seasons playing for the Edmonton Oil Kings. In 78 WHL games Guenther has scored 41 goals and added 46 assists while being named the 2019/20 WHL Rookie of the Year.

The Edmonton, AB forward played for the Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX) in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) for two seasons. In 2017/18 he led the U15 Prep division in scoring with 103 points in 30 games as the Xtreme won the John Reid Memorial Tournament. The following year he would tally 58 points in 28 U18 Prep games, winning U18 Freshman of the Year and a U18 Prep CSSHL League Championship.

Guenther has represented Team Canada twice at the international level, playing for Canada White at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge tournament and winning gold at the 2021 U18 World Championships.

Guenther was one of four NAX skaters selected at the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.
