Cootes, Hartmann Sign WHL SPAs

Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) student-athletes Braeden Cootes and Kaleb Hartmann have signed Western Hockey League (WHL) Standard Player Agreements with the Seattle Thunderbirds.

Braeden Cootes finished tied for fifth among all CSSHL U15 Prep skaters with 67 points in 30 games during the 2021/22 season, his lone season in the CSSHL with Yale Hockey Academy. The Sherwood Park, AB forward was selected in the first round, 10th overall by Seattle at the 2022 WHL Draft.

Defenseman Kaleb Hartmann spent two seasons in the CSSHL with Delta Hockey Academy. During the 2021/22 U15 Prep campaign with Delta Green the Langley, BC native recorded 9 goals and 16 assists in 29 games, and an additional 5 points in 5 playoff games as Delta Green captured the CSSHL U15 Prep Championship. The Thunderbirds drafted Hartmann in the second round, 37th overall at the 2022 WHL Draft.
