Former Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX) coach Kyle Chipchura has been promoted to Assistant Coach and Manager of Player Development for the Edmonton Oil Kings.
The former Team Canada World Juniors star and NHLer, Chipchura joined the Oil Kings as Development Coach for the 2023/24 Western Hockey League (WHL).
After playing nine seasons and 481 games in the NHL, Chipchura joined NAX as an assistant coach for the 2021/22 Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) U15 Prep season. He would earn the U17 Prep head coaching role the following season, leading the team to a 2023 CSSHL U17 Prep Western Championship.
