Chiasson Inks NHL Deal with Oilers

Former Yale Hockey Academy forward Jake Chiasson has signed an NHL Entry Level Contract with the Edmonton Oilers.

The Abbotsford, BC forward played three seasons in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) with Yale, joining the team for the 2016/17 U15 Prep season. In 27 games he would tally 19 points.

He would return to the team for the following season, finishing second in scoring with 68 points in 30 games. His successful season would lead the Brandon Wheat Kings to select him in the first round, 15th overall at the 2018 Western Hockey League (WHL) Draft.

In 2018/19 Chiasson would suit up for the Yale U18 Prep team, finishing with a team high 69 points in 36 games.

Chiasson would join the Wheat Kings in 2019/20, playing 60 games and recording 15 points. The following year he would record 9 goals and 11 assists in 23 games before the Oilers selected him in the fourth round, 116th overall at the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.

During the 2020/21 season Chiasson would add 18 points in 20 WHL games with Brandon. He would start the 2022/23 season with the Wheat Kings, tallying 28 points in 37 games before being traded to the Saskatoon Blades where he currently has 30 points in 33 games.
