Capton, Yim Commit to Bucks

A pair of Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) student-athletes in Carter Capton and Markus Yim have committed to the Cranbrook Bucks for the 2022/23 British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) season.

A netminder from Lethbridge, AB, Capton has spent the last three seasons with Yale Hockey Academy. A fifth-round pick, 96th overall by the Brandon Wheat Kings in the 2020 Western Hockey League (WHL) Draft, Capton joined Yale for the 2019/20 season, finishing with a 2.25 Goals Against Average (GAA), 903 Save Percentage (SV%) and 4 shutouts in 16 U15 Prep games. He would post a perfect 3-0-0 record at the U17 Prep level in 2020/21, recording a 0.79 GAA and .975 SV%. During the 2021/22 U18 Prep season, Capton played 18 games posting a 2.35 GAA and .916 SV% with 3 shutouts. Capton played one BCHL game for the Bucks as an affiliate player this season, recording a shutout.

Yim has spent the last five seasons in the CSSHL with St. George’s School. The Vancouver, BC defenseman spent the 2017/18 season at the U15 level, recording 15 points in 29 games. He would score 10 points in 27 games the following U15 Prep season, and 9 points in 35 U16 Prep games during the 2019/20 season. Yim would spend the 2020/21 and 2021/22 seasons with the St. George’s U18 Prep team, recording 14 points in 35 games. Yim played in four BCHL games with the Bucks this season, recording two assists.
